After the Wu Emperor stated the conditions for the alliance one by one, Liang Yan pondered silently in his heart. Although these conditions were somewhat better than expected, offering thirty thousand taels of silver and five hundred bolts of Shu Jin was still a considerable burden. However, the rights to border trade were indeed quite appealing.

Liang Yan's face lit up with joy as he expressed his gratitude once more. "Your Majesty is benevolent. This alliance will surely enable us to fend off external enemies and enjoy prosperity. Once I return to my country to report to our monarch, we can sign the agreement."
The Wu Emperor nodded slightly and ordered someone to escort Liang Yan back to the inn for rest. Thus, this alliance, which concerned the fate of both nations, was preliminarily established.
Shortly after, a young eunuch announced the end of court proceedings. The officials respectfully bowed to the emperor and then exited the court in an orderly fashion. The ministers hurried away, each carrying their respective missions. Some were deep in thought while others whispered among themselves, their figures gradually disappearing at the end of the palace corridor.
Lin Feng followed closely behind the Wu Emperor as they left the court together. They traversed through palaces and corridors until they arrived at the picturesque Imperial Garden. Here, flowers bloomed vibrantly, trees provided shade, and a gentle breeze carried fragrant scents.
With a smile on his face and a kind gaze directed at Lin Feng beside him, the Wu Emperor spoke, "Young man, yesterday I listened to your analysis on that matter; it was incisive and extremely thorough. Yet in today's court session, everyone spoke eagerly—why did you remain silent?"
Hearing this question, Lin Feng calmly clasped his hands together and replied with an unruffled demeanor, "Replying to Your Majesty, Your son was simply quite fatigued after resting well last night and truly lacked the energy to speak further."
Upon hearing this response, the Wu Emperor couldn't help but pause slightly, revealing a hint of confusion on his face as if he found Lin Feng's words somewhat unexpected.
For a moment, the air seemed to freeze.
However, it wasn't long before the Wu Emperor regained his composure. He gently shook his head and chuckled, "You little rascal, you really know how to make excuses for yourself."

After a brief chat between father and son, Lin Feng bid farewell to his father and turned to make his way home.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Liang Yan was hurrying back to Guanyin Inn with quick steps. He appeared disheveled from his journey, but the excitement on his face was unmistakable.
As soon as he entered the doors of Guanyin Inn, he didn't even take a moment to catch his breath before rushing toward the room where his sister was.
Before he even reached the door, Liang Yan's hearty laughter could be heard echoing: "Sister! Haha!"
His sister, who was inside organizing her clothes, looked up in surprise at her brother bursting through the door.
At that moment, Liang Yan's smile was wide enough to split his face, and his eyes sparkled with excitement. He strode confidently in front of his sister, eager to share the good news from his recent mission:
"Sister, everything has gone smoothly! After some tough negotiations with Wu Kingdom, we finally reached a cooperation agreement!"
"This is a significant achievement!"
"But right now, I need to hurry back and report this good news to Father."
Liang Yan was extremely happy at that moment; the weight that had been pressing on his heart had finally been lifted.
