"What is happening that has you so panicked?" 0

"The patrol and the guards are dead!" 0

Jin Heizi exclaimed, rising to his feet in alarm. 0

"This is bad!" 0

"There's no need to look for them; I took care of it," came a voice—none other than Lin Feng. 0

Just moments ago, Lin Feng had dealt with the bandits outside and made his way into the hall. 0

He dismounted and entered the main chamber. 0

Jin Heizi was utterly shocked. 0

He had not sensed Lin Feng's presence at all until now. 0

As a martial artist himself, he could easily handle several ordinary people alone. 0

But the man before him exuded an overwhelming power that completely overshadowed him. 0

Jin Heizi trembled as he spoke, "Y-you're Zong Shi!" 0

"No." 0

"What do you want?" 0

At this moment, Jin Heizi could only feign calmness. 0

"I’m here to kill you. Leave a last word." 0

All Jin Heizi wanted now was to survive: "I have money—lots of it—in the back." 0

"Where?" Lin Feng followed Jin Heizi toward a cave behind the stronghold. 0

Inside the cave was a large chest filled with Jin Yin jewelry. 0

"It's all here; take it all. I beg you, spare my life," Jin Heizi pleaded. 0

Lin Feng, however, remained unmoved. "Hmph, how many wrongdoings have you committed to amass such wealth? What reason do you have to live, you who are guilty of countless crimes, murderers and arsonists? Hmm?" 0

"No, please don't!" Jin Heizi exclaimed hurriedly. 0

Lin Feng's eyes flashed with a hint of disgust. 0

"Letting you die will solve everything." 0

Having dealt with Jin Heizi, Lin Feng prepared to descend the mountain to gather the villagers below and bring them to collect the goods here. There was plenty of food and money in this cave, which could be used to aid the oppressed villagers. 0

"Done," Lin Feng muttered to himself. 0

As he was about to head down, he suddenly heard a faint sound coming from not far away, seemingly emanating from underground. 0

"Hmm? It sounds like there are still people here?" 0

He quietly followed the sound and discovered a small house with an entrance leading downwards, slowly making his way down the steps. 0

Lin Feng cautiously entered the underground passage. The voices he heard were indeed coming from within; it was the sound of women speaking. 0

He gripped his sword tightly, alert and careful as he approached that direction. 0

When he reached the door, he kicked it open with a swift motion. Inside was a dark and damp prison. 0

As he stepped inside, Lin Feng saw that it was a gloomy dungeon with a foul odor. Several women were locked up within. They looked haggard, their bodies covered in scars, and their eyes filled with fear. 0

Upon seeing Lin Feng enter, the women shrank back together in fright, letting out cries of alarm, clearly terrified. 0

Lin Feng hurriedly opened the prison to rescue them and inquired about what had happened. 0

"Don't be afraid; I'm here to save you." 0

"Who are you?" one of them asked. 0

"We are villagers from nearby. We were captured by bandits and taken up the mountain some time ago." 0

Most of these women had been robbed by bandits on their way down from the mountain. Long-term imprisonment had left them gaunt and filled with terror and despair. 0

Lin Feng furrowed his brow, a surge of compassion welling up within him. 0

He turned to the women and said loudly, "You can leave now; I've dealt with the bandits." 0

However, to Lin Feng's surprise, the women did not immediately rise to leave upon hearing his words. Instead, they showed signs of fear, shrinking back into the corners and trembling. 0

Seeing this, Lin Feng couldn't help but feel puzzled. He stepped closer and repeated, "I told you, you are free now. You can go home." 0

Yet, the women remained unmoved, as if they hadn't understood him at all. It dawned on Lin Feng that these women might have been so traumatized by the long-term torment and abuse from the bandits that their spirits were on the verge of breaking. 0
