After resolving the crisis at the ancient temple, the group decided to head to Mu Yunfan's hometown in Eastern Wu. Along the way, they felt a mix of heavy hearts and hopeful anticipation. The weight of the situation stemmed from the continuous schemes of a mysterious organization, leaving them uncertain about the dangers that lay ahead. However, they were eager to leverage Mu Yunfan's family influence to attempt reforms and seek welfare for the common people. 0

Mu Yunfan walked at the front of the group, gazing at the road ahead while silently planning his strategy for returning to Eastern Wu. "Upon our return to Eastern Wu, we must utilize our family's prestige in the area to initiate reforms from the grassroots level," he stated. 0

Fu Xingchen nodded in agreement. " brother Mu, reform is no easy task; it will undoubtedly disturb many vested interests. But as long as it is for the benefit of the people, we must persevere, no matter how difficult it may be." 0

Su Yizhi chimed in, "Exactly. We should start with governance by selecting officials who genuinely care for the people's welfare and replacing those who are corrupt and incompetent." 0

After several days of travel, they finally arrived in Eastern Wu. The land was picturesque, but the lives of its people remained fraught with hardship. The streets were filled with hurried passersby, their faces gaunt and weary, while most shops struggled to stay afloat. 0

Mu Yunfan led the group to the ancestral home of the Mu Family. The grand residence stood imposing with its tightly shut crimson doors, flanked by two majestic stone lions. Mu Yunfan approached and knocked on the door. Moments later, a steward opened it, and upon seeing Mu Yunfan, his face lit up with surprise. "Young Master, you have finally returned!" 0

Entering the ancestral home with his companions, Mu Yunfan inquired about the family's situation. Learning that his elders were all well brought him some relief. 0

Soon after, Mu Yunfan gathered the family elders to explain their purpose: "During this journey, I witnessed the chaos in society and the suffering of the people. These brothers are my confidants whom I met along the way; we have shared many experiences and realized that continuing down a path of violence is not a solution. I wish to leverage our family's strength to implement reforms in Eastern Wu and rectify governance so that our people can live better lives." 0

An elderly elder with white hair furrowed his brow and replied, "Fan'er, reform is easier said than done; it will disturb many interests. Our Mu Family has deep roots in Eastern Wu, but we cannot act recklessly." 0

Mu Yunfan quickly responded, "Elder, I understand the risks involved. However, if we do not reform now while our people are suffering greatly, how can we justify our existence to the elders and ancestors of Eastern Wu?" 0

Fu Xingchen stepped forward as well. "Respected elders, throughout our journey, we have witnessed too much suffering among the people. brother Mu's vision is not only for the long-term development of Eastern Wu; even Wei Shu Wu needs such reforms now. We will fully support this endeavor." 0

Su Yizhi added, "We can start with pilot programs in smaller areas; once successful, we can gradually expand them. This approach will minimize resistance while allowing us to gather valuable experience." 0

After much discussion, the elders of the family finally agreed to Mu Yunfan's plan. 0

Mu Yunfan led everyone to a remote village, which was their first stop. The houses in the village were dilapidated, and the villagers, dressed in rags, were working in the fields. 0

Mu Yunfan stepped forward and cupped his hands in greeting to an elderly man, asking, "Elder, how are you faring these days?" 0

The old man sighed, "Alas, the harvest is poor, the taxes are heavy, and life is quite tight." 0

A pang of pain shot through Mu Yunfan's heart as he replied, "Elder, rest assured that the taxes will be reduced in the future, and everyone's lives will gradually improve." 0

The group began to busy themselves around the village. Fu Xingchen and Zhao Gang helped the villagers repair their houses, while Su Yizhi worked with Lin Yu to assess the land and population situation. Mu Yunfan ran around, conversing with the local gentry to persuade them to support the reforms. 0

However, the reforms did not go smoothly. Some gentry resisted the changes in secret for their own interests. They spread rumors that the reforms would cause everyone to lose their land and make life even harder. Upon hearing this, the villagers began to waver. 0

One day, several villagers approached Mu Yunfan and questioned him, "Mu Gongzi, we heard that the reforms will leave us without food. Is that true?" 0

Mu Yunfan quickly explained, "Everyone, do not listen to those rumors. The reforms are meant to help you live better lives. We will remeasure the land for fair distribution, reduce taxes, and teach you new farming methods to improve yields." 0

Yet the villagers remained skeptical. At that moment, Fu Xingchen stepped forward and said, "Everyone, we have traveled far and wide for justice; we have reached this point after careful consideration. This reform is for your benefit. If you have any concerns, feel free to approach us at any time." 0

Just as they worked hard to dispel the villagers' doubts, a mysterious figure quietly arrived in the village. He stealthily met with those gentry who opposed the reforms, plotting something sinister. 0
