The journey was fraught with peril as they encountered numerous dangers along the way. One time, while crossing a frozen lake, they suddenly faced a crack in the ice. Li Chen and Lin Yao reacted swiftly, helping the others in their group to pass safely.
“Be careful!” Lin Yao shouted loudly as she pulled a survivor who nearly fell into the fissure back to safety. Li Chen quickly secured the edge of the crack with a rope to prevent anyone else from falling into danger. Their bravery and decisiveness earned them the respect of the group.
“You are truly our lucky stars,” Chen Gang said after the crisis had passed, a hint of relief showing on his face.
But the danger was far from over. A few days later, they encountered a horde of mutated creatures in the forest. These beings appeared to be twisted beasts warped by the cold, and their attacks were ferociously aggressive.
“Quick, form a defensive circle!” Chen Gang commanded loudly, and the team quickly gathered in a circle, back-to-back for protection. Li Chen and Lin Yao stood at the forefront, using their weapons to fend off wave after wave of attacks. After an intense battle, they finally repelled the mutated creatures, but not without suffering heavy losses.
“We can’t keep going like this,” Li Chen said after the fight had ended, his voice tinged with fatigue. “We need to be better prepared.”
Chen Gang nodded in agreement. “The Survivor Alliance might have what we need. We must pick up the pace.”
After several days of arduous trekking, they finally arrived at the location of the Survivor Alliance. It was a massive underground facility hidden beneath an abandoned industrial area. The entrance was protected by thick iron doors, adorned with a sign that read "Survivor Alliance."
“Welcome to the Alliance,” said a man in protective gear as he opened the iron door, his eyes filled with caution. “You must be from Chen Gang’s team. We’ve been waiting for you for quite some time.”
Chen Gang nodded. “We’re here seeking help. Our camp needs more resources and protection.”
The man gestured for them to enter, and inside the Alliance was bright and well-equipped. Not only were there ample supplies, but also medical facilities, laboratories, and training grounds.
“The people here are all survivors,” the man explained. “We live together here, fighting against this apocalypse.”
At the center of the Alliance, they met its leader—a middle-aged woman named Aili. Her gaze was sharp, yet her face bore a warm smile.
“Welcome,” Aili said. “I know your arrival hasn’t been easy.”
Chen Gang nodded again. “We need help; our camp can’t hold out much longer.”
Aili paused for a moment before speaking again. “I can help you, but you must understand the truth.”
“The truth?” Li Chen and Lin Yao exchanged glances filled with confusion.
Aili nodded gravely. “The Ice Age Apocalypse is not a natural disaster; it is a man-made conspiracy.”
“A man-made conspiracy?” Lin Yao whispered, her voice laced with shock.
“Yes,” Aili confirmed. “Someone deliberately triggered this catastrophe with the aim of controlling the world.”
A sense of unease washed over Li Chen and Lin Yao as they realized that there was a far greater conspiracy lurking behind this apocalypse.
"What should we do?" Chen Gang asked, a hint of determination in his voice.
Aili looked at them, her eyes filled with a glimmer of hope. "We need to come together, expose the truth, and save the world."
