Lan Qingqing, unable to contain her anger, spread rumors in the lobby of the Cosmetic Surgery Institution. She told everyone that Hua Rongxiao was pregnant with an illegitimate child, claiming that the baby in Hua Rongxiao's belly was not conceived through IVF but through natural means, and that it certainly wasn't Wan Zhang's flesh and blood!
However, she dared not speak Ke Wenjie's name, fearing that Hua Rongxiao would truly make trouble for her. After venting her frustrations, Lan Qingqing left the Cosmetic Surgery Institution. The security guard following her was nearly driven to madness; he couldn't lay a hand on her and had no way to silence her foul mouth. The moment he lightly bumped into her, she would fall to the ground, claiming all sorts of pains, including a heartache.
Lan Qingqing had perfected the art of throwing tantrums. After all, her life had already been thoroughly ruined by Hua Rongxiao and Ke Wenjie; she no longer cared about anything else.
When she got home, it was noon, and Mo Kai Liang was also there. It was rare for him not to be out working; he was in the kitchen preparing a meal for Lan Qingqing, having just put a fish on to stew.

So all those surgeries I underwent at Du Guangwei's Cosmetic Surgery Institution and all those injections were done because Hua Rongxiao deliberately harmed me! She intentionally caused my baby to mutate and then give birth to a monster!"
Lan Qingqing laughed coldly in despair. "She succeeded! She has ruined me and my child; she has destroyed my life! Just because my baby is Ke Wenjie’s flesh and blood, just because I was once with Ke Wenjie! She could even harm an innocent person like Ge Miao; she must have long wanted to kill me. But instead of killing me outright, she chose to torment me! She made me give birth to a monster and ruined my face! Now my body is failing me; I can’t see clearly out of one eye anymore. My life is completely over! She has achieved her goal! She’s pregnant with Ke Wenjie’s child; she got what she wanted!"
Seeing Lan Qingqing on the verge of fainting from rage, Mo Kai Liang grasped her shoulders firmly, trying to calm her down. "Don’t get angry, Lan Qingqing. Don’t you remember what the doctor said? You can’t get worked up; your heart and blood pressure are already problematic. You need to stay calm, do you understand?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Lan Qingqing felt dizzy; the world spun around her as blood rushed to her head as if it were about to explode!
With her eyes closed and hands clutching her head in pain, she squatted down and tears streamed down her face.
Mo Kai Liang stayed by her side, thinking of a solution. "Lan Qingqing, let’s move to another city. I’ll take you away from this place full of troubles. We won’t care about anything here anymore; we can leave that child with a postpartum doula or let it fend for itself. We can’t fight against Hua Rongxiao; dealing with one Ke Wenjie is enough trouble for us—what more if we add Hua Rongxiao into the mix? I have enough money now to buy a large apartment in a small city. Let’s go somewhere else and live peacefully, okay?"
Lan Qingqing's face twisted in rage. "No way! Hua Rongxiao has harmed me like this; I won’t let her off easily! I, Lan Qingqing, have never lost before! When Tong Le tried to steal my man from me, I won! Later when Zhang Huizhi oppressed me, I made sure she paid for it! And that Wu Youyou who bullied me time and again? I took my revenge on her too! I have never lost! I will not lose now! Sure, Hua Rongxiao has money, but she has weaknesses too! I will not admit defeat or back down; I will not swallow this humiliation!"
Lan Qingqing stood up unsteadily and stumbled over to the cabinet. She opened a drawer and took a handful of pills down with half a cup of water.

Mo Kai Liang rushed forward trying to stop her, but Lan Qingqing had already entered the elevator. With fish still stewing in the kitchen at home, he could only rush back to turn off the stove.
Just as he reached the kitchen, his phone rang—it was a call from a junior at work.
The call connected, and the young man on the other end hesitated before speaking. "Brother, when are you coming to the office? Something happened, but it's not a big deal."
