After the Meteor Shower and the Vengeful Goddess fell, the last batch of Elite Demons began to die in large numbers. Ye Feihong's Metal Plants, if transformed into the Imperial Cannon and absorbing Energy Stones, could indeed kill these Elite Demons. However, doing so would mean that her Hero Units would gain no experience.
Instead, she transformed into a War Tree to guard the city. The purpose was merely to stall these Elite Demons, allowing her heroes to gradually harvest their experience.
What appeared to be a grand battle lasted less than half an hour from start to finish, leaving the mages and Amazon Warriors astonished. They had never witnessed such methods before; the efficiency in slaughtering demons was remarkably high, especially in the final phase. Ye Feihong managed to use thousands of War Trees, with arms resembling Willow Branches, to trap a large number of Elite Demons, providing her subordinates with opportunities to gain experience.
This method of leveling up was incredibly cool. Both of them had reached their current levels without knowing how many life-and-death battles they had endured. Even when a few of them teamed up to venture into some demon nests, they had to face various traps, assaults from demons, and insidious schemes.
Ye Feihong's subordinates easily eliminated the immobile Elite Demons. If their fortress faced such a number of attacks, it would take at least a few days to conclude the battle, which would be considered quick. It was possible that it could turn into a prolonged tug-of-war lasting several months.
Confronted with the provocation from the Pain King's army, Ye Feihong would not let it go easily. The Metal Plants within the city began to change once again. The first to emerge were thousands of tiny plants, only about ten centimeters long, resembling miniature drones. They were indeed pocket-sized drones, composed of four Bamboo Dragonflies and a large reconnaissance lens in the center, forming a small scouting aircraft.
The remaining Metal Plants transformed into structures resembling Cherry Rocket launchers. The reconnaissance team set off, their flying speed significantly faster than the flight units Ye Feihong had established with Bamboo Dragonflies months ago. In just over ten minutes, they entered the Pain King's Dark Territory.
The details of the ground within the Dark Territory became very clear. Previously, this had been a vast human city, now reduced to ruins. However, judging by the scale of the various ruined buildings, it was evident that at least a million people had once lived here.
Ye Feihong asked with some confusion, "Was this once your human city?" The mage, well-versed in knowledge, prepared to respond.
Ye Feihong's doubts were immediately answered. Over two hundred years ago, this place was indeed a prosperous city. Behind it, the Lava Sea was once a rich fishing ground. Now, it appeared to be a vast expanse of sandy hills. In the past, it had been a massive oasis. Furthermore, within the mines, large quantities of gold and gemstones were discovered, attracting many humans to come and develop the area.
What people did not know was that deep underground, the Pain King was sealed away. It had been imprisoned by countless unnamed Human Warriors long ago, a history lost to time.
