In a rural area of Fujian Province, there exists a rather peculiar Farm Owner. While other Farm Owners are stationed at the borders to guard against threats from the Dragon Kingdom, establishing a Farm Owner in Fujian Province seems like a rather wasteful endeavor. This particular Farm Owner cultivates a vast array of Dark Plants, yet does not confront the dark creatures that roam the land.
This Farm Owner is named Yuan Xingguo, a Botanist by profession. In such dire times, anyone who can become a Scholar is far from ordinary. In the past, it took years for individuals to decide their future paths and specialties. However, in this era, survival is paramount. Aside from a few prodigies who can pass intelligence tests before the age of eight and embark on scientific pursuits, most people focus their studies on how to combat dark creatures.
Yuan Xingguo is one such prodigy. He is the most renowned Botanist in the Dragon Kingdom, having inherited a legacy of excellence from his family. His ancestor was the famous Agronomist Old Yuan, who earned the title of New Shennong for solving the food crisis for over a billion people.
From a young age, Yuan Xingguo displayed remarkable talent and achieved significant accomplishments in the field of botany. To further research more powerful Dark Plants, he established his own Farm Owner in Fujian Province. His farm is distinctly different from those of ordinary people.
Here, there is an abundance of Dark Plants. In fact, every type of Dark Plant is represented here. The variety is extensive, ranging from the weakest Level Plant to the more advanced ones; he has them all. The only exception is the higher-level plants, which are scarce due to their excessive need for Dian Ling Neng.
Yuan Xingguo has placed many plants under glass domes, each filled with liquid. These liquids were once various precious genetic medicines, but now they have been replaced with fine wines. After years of research, Yuan Xingguo discovered that modifying dark organisms is extremely challenging because they no longer resemble living beings. Instead, they are more akin to stones or soil—lifeless entities.
Despite being able to move and possessing strong offensive capabilities, these plants seem more like rocks. One wonders how to enhance the genes of something that is essentially dead. Yuan Xingguo even suspects that Dark Plants may lack any genetic material altogether. Yet, these Dark Plant Seeds still have the potential to mutate into even more powerful plants, which presents a significant contradiction.
Over the past decade, Yuan Xingguo has experimented with tens of thousands of different potions but has been unable to increase the mutation rate of these dark organisms. During a particularly frustrating time, he came across a report suggesting that using Pure Grain to brew fine wine could temporarily strengthen these Dark Plants.
Yuan Xingguo immediately opened the gates to the New Territories. He had experimented with various materials to improve the Dark Plants, but he had never found a suitable catalyst to induce changes in their genes. However, things were different now; he realized that Pure Grain was needed to brew fine wine.
Previously, he had tried using Industrial Alcohol, but it had proven ineffective. Yuan Xingguo quickly grasped the key point: wine is essentially the essence brewed from seeds. It didn't necessarily have to be grain; other Dark Plant Seeds could also be fermented into wine.
Among these Farm Owners, there were numerous Wine Vats filled with beverages that were not solely brewed from Sorghum or Xiao Mai rice. In fact, they could now harvest and utilize almost all types of seeds available.
