Leaving the city, Kei Yunqing set off to find a new place to stay. He looked up at the sky and saw a floating island drifting above. With a few companions, he transported himself onto the Floating Island, which was quite spacious. In the center stood an old wooden house that looked like it had seen better days.
As they entered, a musty smell hit them, and cobwebs adorned every corner. It seemed no one had lived here for a long time.
"What do you think? Should we clean it up and stay, or should I build a new one?" Kei Yunqing asked.
"Let's build a new one. This place isn't very appealing, but the Sky Island itself isn't too bad," Sera suggested.
Kei Yunqing agreed with the idea of constructing a new house. Ke Tian Ci listened to his mother's words and said nothing. To him, it didn't matter where they lived as long as he was by Kei Yunqing's side.
With a wave of his hand, Kei Yunqing turned the old wooden house to dust. Using vines, he crafted a three-story small house. Unlike the previous single-story design, this one was larger, taking advantage of the spacious Sky Island.
As per their usual routine, Sera took Ke Tian Ci inside to arrange their rooms. The wind found it amusing and followed them in. Meanwhile, Kei Yunqing stood at the edge of the Sky Island, looking down.
The ground was nearly a thousand meters below, and the monsters down there appeared as tiny black dots. After pondering for a moment, Kei Yunqing summoned his friends. A massive Transmission Array appeared behind him, and soon Teng Lu materialized beside him.
Teng Lu looked around, seemingly puzzled about where he was. Kei Yunqing turned to him and said, "This is the first floor."
Teng Lu tilted his head in confusion. "What?"
"You've already reached the level limit for this floor. Check your level," Kei Yunqing encouraged.
Teng Lu's eyes widened. "Really?"
"Yes! Your level increases as you ascend through the floors, and you're currently at the highest level for this one."
Teng Lu shook his head. "I’m not going anywhere. You guard this position; someone will take over for you."
A gentle breeze swept through the Transmission Array on the first floor, and a new crystal appeared on the ceiling. Kei Yunqing smiled. "You can just stay with us. How about guarding the entrance?"
Teng Lu glanced down at Sky Island and then back at the house behind him. "Hmm? It does seem unlikely that anyone would come to attack, but we still need some protection."
He nodded in agreement. At a height of a thousand meters, most attacks wouldn't reach them, making the guarding quite easy.
Teng Lu lay down beside the house, careful not to expose his crystal. The crystal was his core; if it were destroyed, he would perish.
Meanwhile, Ke Tian Ci was tidying up his room on the third floor when he felt something watching him from outside. He turned to look.
"Teng Lu? What are you doing here?"
Teng Lu lay down sideways, stretching his neck out, which was almost three stories high.
Could it be that friend summoning can reach such distances? Can I summon Simba?
