Zhang Lingyu chose cautiously.
"I choose Kanao Tsuyuri!"
Sera stepped back upon hearing Zhang Lingyu's words. Kanao Tsuyuri and Zhang Lingyu stood in the center of the arena. The match began!
In the audience, the Old Celestial Master watched Zhang Lingyu with some concern. Would Kanao Tsuyuri hold back?
"Don't worry, she definitely will," Li Yunqing assured him. The Old Celestial Master nodded and continued to observe the arena.
Inside the arena, Kanao Tsuyuri did not use her Breathing Technique; she simply fought with her sword skills against Zhang Lingyu. Zhang Lingyu protected his hands with the Golden Light Spell and engaged in combat using his fists.
Although their clash was not as grand as the earlier match between Sera and Lilu Lu, it was still quite entertaining. The audience watched with great interest, as this was one of the few matches they could actually understand. The swordplay and fist techniques were indeed impressive; they felt a sense of inferiority!
However, if one were to be serious, Zhang Lingyu might end up losing, right? Would the Yunqing Sect's people really inherit the title of Tianshi?
It shouldn't be; I just secretly observed the Old Celestial Master and Kong Yunqing—they must have some secret dealings! A fixed match?
After all, if Luo Tian Da Jiao ultimately wins, it would mean that the Tianshi title would go to them. If it weren't for the Longhu Mountain Man, it wouldn't really matter. The main prize is still the Tongtian Lu.
The audience could only speculate that the Old Celestial Master and Li Yunqing had made a deal, allowing the Yunqing Sect to go easy on Zhang Lingyu, enabling him to inherit the Tianshi position while the Yunqing Sect obtained the Tongtian Lu. Their guesses were quite accurate, but they overlooked Zhang Chulan.
That was the same Zhang Chulan who had just eliminated Tang Wenlong in an instant, yet many still underestimated him, especially after hearing the recent news. Wang Ye had been chased by a member of the All-Rounder faction for an entire night and was exhausted, so he could only compete with Zhang Chulan in terms of food intake, ultimately losing to him!
Next came Zhang Chulan's match against Feng Baobao. Their relationship was well-known, leaving no room for suspense. These two easy victories further deepened the audience's underestimation of Zhang Chulan.
Back in the arena, Zhang Lingyu had been battling Kanao Tsuyuri for a while. He unleashed his Lei Zhengfa technique and ultimately defeated her. Looking at Kanao Tsuyuri sprawled on the ground, showing no signs of injury, he couldn't help but glance at his own hands, still crackling with lightning.
If Kanao Tsuyuri had acted a bit more convincingly, he might have believed it. The referee observed that Kanao Tsuyuri remained down for ten seconds without getting up and declared Zhang Lingyu the winner.
Zhang Lingyu emerged victorious! Upon hearing the referee's announcement, Kanao Tsuyuri finally got up, dusted herself off, and jumped toward Li Yunqing. Both Zhang Lingyu and the audience were left speechless.
Was this all part of a master plan? Zhang Lingyu and the audience turned their gazes toward the Old Celestial Master. Noticing all the eyes upon him, the Old Celestial Master showed no reaction, maintaining his gentle old man demeanor. He even smiled at Zhang Lingyu.
If this was indeed his master's intention, then it must be followed. Zhang Lingyu relaxed his body slightly.
Then Sera stepped into the center of the arena and casually drew her sword. The match was about to begin!
The battle unfolded as before, with sword techniques clashing against fist techniques, ultimately culminating in the defeat of Sera by the Thunder Technique. Zhang Lingyu found the entire confrontation to be nothing more than child's play.
Word had it that in that arena, Zhang Chulan emerged victorious in the end. If he hadn't won, the final victory would have belonged to someone from the Yunqing Sect. He still had to deal with the disgrace of Longhu Mountain.
Now, he understood that this was all part of his master's plan. With that realization, there was nothing more to say; a disciple must heed their master's words. Victory belonged to Zhang Lingyu!
