The sky was overcast, and by the time Li Yunqing returned home, it had completely darkened.

Shinobu Kocho and Kanao Tsuyuri accepted the flowers and tucked them into their hair.
Looking to the other side, Ma Yi was engrossed in a magic book, while Xiao Yagui rested her head on Ma Yi's lap, fast asleep. Ma Yi gently stroked Xiao Yagui's head.
Approaching from behind, I tucked a flower into Ma Yi's hair and then placed another flower in Zhi Ye's hair. Ma Yi reached out and touched my hand.

Noticing that the rain outside was getting heavier, I walked over to the balcony and sat down. It had been a long time since I had watched the rain. In the past, I often enjoyed watching it, as my city used to experience frequent downpours. For some reason, watching the rain felt like a cleansing of the soul. It brought a sense of relief and comfort.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of a chair being moved behind me. Turning around, I saw Ma Yi approaching with her magic book. Without saying a word, she pulled a chair next to mine, sat down, and leaned her shoulder against me while continuing to read.
I glanced at Ma Yi and then looked around the living room. Xiao Yagui had rubbed her eyes and stood up; seeing that Ma Yi was not around, she walked over to Sera and Lilu Lu. They embraced her, resting their heads on her soft hair as they continued to sleep.
I smiled and turned back to watch the rain. The two of us sat quietly on the balcony—me watching the rain and Ma Yi reading her book. I reflected on how just moments ago there had been bright sunshine, which had suddenly turned into a heavy downpour.
According to the conventions of anime, this was the kind of moment when the villain should have been up to something. Just as this thought crossed his mind, there was a sudden knock at the door.
"Lord Yunqing! Several pillars have encountered an Upper Moon! One of the cities has been attacked; it must be the Demon King devouring people!"
How could this happen? Did Muzan lose control? This wasn't like him.
Li Yunqing flashed to the door and opened it.
"What is the name of that city?"
"Yuan Stone City!"
Without hesitation, Li Yunqing teleported away. He remembered that name; he had seen it on a map before and had even visited it. What if he stumbled upon a raw stone there?
As soon as he landed, he was greeted by a scene of writhing tentacles throughout the city.
Has Muzan gone mad? How could he suddenly appear in the city to feast on people?
Li Yunqing focused on where the tentacles were emerging from.
It was a massive flesh mound, adorned with several enormous mouths. The tentacles retracted, pulling humans toward those gaping maws.
Li Yunqing recognized this as Muzan, but why had he transformed into this grotesque form? That remained a mystery.
He saw a human about to be devoured and raised his hand toward the flesh mound.
"Freeze."
In an instant, the enormous mass became immobilized, as if time itself had stopped for its colossal body.
