After dinner, Li Yunqing tidied up and did some simple exercises in his room. Another day had passed. For him, life was still a routine: preparing meals, reading books, and teaching.
Sera and Lilu Lu had nearly finished their training. Days went by, and one morning, after Sera and Lilu Lu had groggily washed up and opened the door, they noticed that Urin Taki, who usually waited for them, was nowhere to be found.
Feeling more awake, they stepped outside and looked around—no one was in sight.
"Hey? Aren't we training today?" Li Yunqing sat at the dining table, watching Sera and Lilu Lu with a smile. "Have you both gone a bit silly? Urin Taki said yesterday that there’s nothing more to teach you for now, so you don’t have to practice."
"Really?" Sera and Lilu Lu returned to the table, having hurriedly eaten breakfast without filling their stomachs.
"No practice for a few days; just take some time to rest and adjust your state. Urin Taki has already signed you up for the Final Trial."
"The Final Trial? What’s that?" Sera and Lilu Lu looked at Li Yunqing with puzzled expressions.
Li Yunqing didn’t keep them in suspense. "The Final Trial is where all the cultivators gather in a specific location to survive for seven days. It’s filled with ghosts."
"Oh, I see." Sera and Lilu Lu nodded in understanding.
Li Yunqing smiled at them. "You two don’t seem worried at all. Urin Taki said you both have pillar-level strength now; this trial is just a selection process for the Demon Slayer Corps members—it's simple."
"Mm-hmm."
"However," he added, "if you encounter anyone in trouble during the trial, you should help them out."
Sera and Lilu Lu nodded seriously at Li Yunqing's words.
Even if their master didn't say anything, they would still go to save people!
Li Yunqing listened to Sera and Lilu Lu and nodded.
My wife is truly kind.

Hearing Li Yunqing praise them, Sera and Lilu Lu felt a bit happy and walked over to him, giving him a kiss on each cheek.
Li Yunqing embraced the two girls and patted their backs.
Since we’re not training anymore, let’s go out for a stroll. We haven’t had much fun since we’ve been here for so long.
I heard from Urin Taki that there’s a place with many handmade products!
Really? Then let’s go there!

After a quick tidy-up, the three of them held hands and went out.
After walking for a while, they saw a cluster of houses.
This must be the place Urin Taki mentioned with lots of handmade products.
As they entered, they found it quite crowded inside.
The houses were neatly arranged on both sides, with shops in front selling their handmade goods, most of which were unique items.
In the middle of the road, many pedestrians walked by, browsing the surrounding shops while thinking about what they wanted to buy.
Li Yunqing led the two girls inside.
Sera and Lilu Lu curiously looked around.
There are quite a few people here, and most of the items are made of bamboo.
Sera stopped in front a shop selling Mai Dou Li and picked up a piece to try it on her head. The bamboo weaving was somewhat flexible but felt a bit stiff when worn; there was a soft cloth padding where it rested against her head.
She looked over at Li Yunqing.
Honey, what do you think?
Li Yunqing circled around Sera, assessing her. She looked good, but she was missing the gauze.
Li Yunqing thought about the conical hats often seen in martial arts dramas. Some were worn for style, allowing others to see the wearer's face through the gauze, while others were meant to obscure the face, making it difficult to discern who was underneath, though the wearer could still see outside.
The seller was sitting on a wooden stool, busy crafting something. Upon hearing Li Yunqing's words, he smiled at him.
"What do you need? Just let me know, and I can help."
Li Yunqing explained his desire for gauze to the seller. After considering it for a moment, the seller nodded.
"Sure, but it will take some time. How many do you need?"
