Lilu Lu nestled closer into Kei Yunqing's embrace. Soon, the movie officially began, and sounds filled the air as Sera and Lilu Lu curiously looked around. With the lights turned off, everything was shrouded in darkness, making it impossible to see anything.
Kei Yunqing felt the person in his arms moving restlessly and glanced down. "What's wrong?"
"Hubby, it's so loud! Where's that noise coming from?"
"The speakers are all around the ceiling; that's where the sound is coming from."
"Oh, I see!"
After hearing this, Sera and Lilu Lu continued to search around, prompting Kei Yunqing to gently pat their heads. "Stop looking; it's too dark for you to see anything. Just focus on the movie."
Sera and Lilu Lu turned their attention back to the screen. At that moment, Kei Yunqing realized they were watching a Nissan movie. However, he hadn’t noticed it at first just by looking at the people on screen. Fortunately, there were Chinese subtitles, so he could still follow along.
As for Sera and Lilu Lu, they were characters from a Japanese game and could usually understand conversations with Kei Yunqing thanks to his language magic. Feeling unsatisfied with just reading the subtitles, he cast a spell on himself to enhance his understanding.
The plot of "Next Time We Meet" was quite engaging; it revolved around a person born with superpowers who could see how many times they would meet someone—counting as one day for each encounter. They could also briefly grant a simplified version of their superpower to anyone they had touched, allowing that person to see how many times they could meet within three encounters; beyond that, it would be invisible.
Thus, it all began with an accidental touch. The movie had no dull moments, and the final meeting between the main characters was cleverly designed.
When the film ended and the lights came on in the theater, audiences began to exit. "This story was pretty good," Kei Yunqing thought. "But why can't these two people be together?"
Perhaps it’s because of the superpower, a manifestation of cause and effect that reveals the invisible threads of fate, solidifying what could be a myriad of destinies into one.
Sera listened to Kei Yunqing’s words, shaking her head. She didn’t understand; she couldn’t comprehend!
Kei Yunqing smiled and kissed Sera gently on the forehead. It didn’t matter if she didn’t understand; what mattered was that she knew they had met in the end.
Looking at Sera’s adorable expression, Kei Yunqing chuckled and glanced at Lilu Lu, who was tightly holding his hand.
What was Lilu Lu thinking?
Lost in thought, Lilu Lu heard Kei Yunqing call her name and smiled slightly.
“It’s nothing. I was just wondering why they gave up so easily.”
“Gave up?”
Even knowing it was only their last meeting, why did they truly let go? They clearly liked each other, yet after parting, they married someone else.
“Maybe that’s also a form of love?”
“Huh?”
Kei Yunqing caressed Lilu Lu’s cheek and leaned down to give her a soft kiss.
“It’s like we don’t know if we’ll meet again, so we can be carefree and happy. They knew it was only their last moment together, so they chose to part ways.”
“Mm.”
Lilu Lu gazed dreamily at Kei Yunqing, gave him a kiss, and then smiled sweetly.
“I understand now. Thank you, my husband.”
“No need.”
“Hmm! I want a kiss too!”
Sera wrapped her arms around Kei Yunqing’s head and planted a kiss on him.
Kei Yunqing responded slightly before releasing Sera from his embrace.
A simple kiss was enough; at home, it was casual, but one still had to maintain an image outside.
Passersby looked at Kei Yunqing, who had two beautiful women by his side. The men were envious, and so were the women. After all, both girls were stunningly gorgeous.
The fact that these two beauties had fallen for one man only highlighted his unique charm. No one cared about others' affairs, except for those social butterflies conducting street interviews.
