The clothing store in the mall started from the left on the fourth floor. It was just past noon, and there was still plenty of time left in the day.
Li Yunqing decided to take Sera and Lilu Lu through each floor, layer by layer. They began on the First Floor, which had a hodgepodge of items, while the upper floors were more organized. On the First Floor, Li Yunqing and the others were just wandering around.
For Sera and Lilu Lu, everything in the mall was new and exciting. They tugged at Li Yunqing's sleeve, eager for him to explain whatever caught their eye.
"Hey, darling, what's that on that cabinet? It looks like it says 'free'?"
Following Sera's pointing finger, Li Yunqing saw a cabinet about his height with several layers filled with small box-like items.
He wasn't sure what they were either, so he led the two girls closer to take a look. It seemed like these had been placed there in the morning, and no one had restocked them by afternoon since there were only a few boxes left.
Li Yunqing picked up one of the boxes to inspect it.
"Durex?"
Suddenly, he realized what it was. But was this something that was being given away for free? He had only heard of it but had never seen it before.
Sera and Lilu Lu looked at Li Yunqing with expressions of surprise and curiosity.
"Darling, what is this?"
"This is something that reduces the chances of women getting pregnant," he explained.
"Oh? Why would there be something like this?"
Sera and Lilu Lu weren't averse to the idea of having children; they just hadn't encountered many people discussing it. They thought that having a cute child for their husband would be a wonderful thing.
Li Yunqing gently patted Sera and Lilu Lu on their heads.
"Not everyone wants to have a child, or perhaps they just don't want one at this stage in their lives."
"Why not?"
Li Yunqing smiled as he looked at Sera and Lilu Lu, who were gazing at him with eager eyes.
"There's no particular reason," he said. "Either you can't afford it, or you can't bear the hardships of pregnancy."
"Is pregnancy really that hard?" Sera asked, recalling how uncomfortable she felt after overeating that morning.
"It’s indeed quite challenging," Li Yunqing replied.
Thinking about her discomfort, Sera suddenly felt a bit reluctant about the idea of being pregnant.
"Then, does my husband want to get one?" she asked, glancing at the small box in Li Yunqing's hand.
Li Yunqing shook his head. "We don't need this. As for your condition, I’m not sure if it qualifies as human. Personally, I have transcended humanity, and the difficulty of reproduction will increase."
"Oh, I see."
Sera and Lilu Lu pondered their identities, feeling a bit downcast.
Noticing their expressions, Li Yunqing stepped closer and embraced them, planting a kiss on each of their cheeks. "You are already true beings; there's no need to dwell on those thoughts."
"Mm!" Sera and Lilu Lu felt uplifted by his words and responded with a kiss back.
"Let’s go; there’s not much left on the First Floor. Let’s check out the next level."
As they ascended to the next floor, they were greeted by delightful aromas wafting through the air.
"It smells amazing!"
Sera's eyes sparkled as she looked around eagerly, while Lilu Lu was less animated but still swallowed hard at the enticing scents.
Li Yunqing smiled as he looked at the two of them, each holding one of his hands.
"Let's go, I'll take you to get some more food, but I doubt you can eat too much," he said.
"That grilled food looks good!" Sera exclaimed, pointing to the nearest barbecue stall.
"Then let's buy some if you want it," Li Yunqing replied. He paid for the food and stood waiting, glancing at Lilu Lu.
"Is there anything you want to eat?" he asked her.
Lilu Lu, who was watching someone pass by eating ice cream, turned at the sound of Li Yunqing's voice and pointed at the person with the ice cream.
Li Yunqing looked over. "Ice cream? That sounds good too. Just wait here; I remember there's an ice cream vendor not far from here."
"Hey? Honey, can we go together?" Sera and Lilu Lu quickly grabbed hold of Li Yunqing when they realized he seemed like he was going alone.
Li Yunqing gently patted both of their heads.
