Li Yunqing glanced at the food delivery app, thought for a moment, and then called out to Hong Hong, who was in the corner making a phone call.
"Hong Hong, are you done with your call? Are you heading home first or staying here to eat? I'm about to order takeout."
In the corner, Wan Hong, who was squatting down on a video call, tensed up upon hearing this. Looking at the screen, she noticed that her relative had narrowed his eyes as if deep in thought.
Wan Hong hurried over to the sofa. "Mom, I'm really just hanging out with my friends! That voice you heard was just a guy at their place! You can see for yourself."
She turned the camera towards Shen Xin and Gu Qingqing.
Shen Xin and Gu Qingqing understood that Wan Hong's relative was asking where she was, so they didn't shy away from the camera.
"Hello, Auntie! I'm Shen Xin, Hong Hong's sister. We're just hanging out together."
"Hello, Auntie! I'm Gu Qingqing, a close friend of Hong Hong! We're all having fun together!"
Shen Xin and Gu Qingqing greeted Wan Hong's mother naturally.
Wan Hong looked at the two beautiful girls and nodded in satisfaction. It seemed her daughter was doing well in college, surrounded by such lovely friends.
"You two are great! Hong Hong is quite shy; she didn't have many friends in high school. I never expected her to make such pretty friends in college."
Shen Xin and Gu Qingqing exchanged glances, realizing that Wan Hong had mistaken them for Wan Hong's college classmates.
"Although Hong Hong is shy, she's really nice. We always include her in our activities," Shen Xin spoke up first. Since they were being seen as college friends, it didn't matter; that identity wasn't important.
"Yeah, even though Hong Hong is shy, she's really sweet and shares everything with me!" Gu Qingqing chimed in cheerfully.
Wan Hong smiled broadly; her daughter had grown up and finally had her own social circle.
"That's wonderful! It's great that you have friends like them, but could I see that guy from earlier?"
Shen Xin and Gu Qingqing exchanged glances before looking at Li Yunqing, who was sneakily observing them from the side. They then went over and brought him in front of the camera.
Of course, Shen Xin and Gu Qingqing couldn't pull him along, so Li Yunqing walked over on his own.
He faced the camera confidently. "Hello, Auntie! I'm Li Yunqing, Hong Hong's brother."
Wan Hong sized up Li Yunqing.
"Ah? Are you my daughter's friend? Or are you one of those two girls from earlier?"
Upon hearing this, Li Yunqing understood Wan Hong's thoughts.
"Auntie, it's like this. The four of us met at a large event and hit it off, so we got to know each other."
Wan Hong nodded.
"I see. Well, there's nothing more to discuss then. You all enjoy yourselves. Hong Hong, remember to be home by ten-thirty."
When Wan Hong heard her name called, she quickly smiled at the camera.
"Got it, Mom! I'll be back on time!"
"Okay, bye! Have fun!"
"Bye!"
As the call ended, Wan Hong let out a sigh of relief and sank into the sofa. Although she was in college now, her school was very close to home, so she lived at home instead of in a dormitory.
Li Yunqing patted Wan Hong's head.
"Alright, that's settled. I'm going to order takeout now. Hong Hong, you don't have any food restrictions, right?"
"Nope."
Wan Hong didn't shy away from Li Yunqing's affectionate gesture; in fact, she found it quite enjoyable.
Li Yunqing nodded and then sat down on the round single sofa next to the large couch to start ordering food.
Seeing Li Yunqing begin to order takeout, the three girls gathered together and started chattering while watching TV.
Li Yunqing held her phone, seemingly ordering food but actually browsing Little Chef for something delicious to eat.
"This Cosmic Dumpling looks really tasty, but it's too big. I could finish it myself, but it's not the right time for that."
