Li Yunqing had yet to speak when Gu Qingqing chimed in.
"Sister Xin! What are you doing? How can you sit in Yun Qing Brother's lap?"
Wan Hong was also startled by Shen Xin's bold move. After a moment of thought, she blushed and wrapped her arms around Li Yunqing's, silently asserting her intentions. Of course, no one but Li Yunqing noticed her actions.
Listening to Gu Qingqing, Shen Xin replied, "What's wrong? Why can't I sit here? I'm just curious about what Li Yunqing is looking at. You two have taken the sides, so I can only come to the middle!"
Gu Qingqing pouted at Shen Xin's words. "As expected, you're older and have thicker skin than us!"
Shen Xin raised an eyebrow. "Oh right, right! So, can the elementary school kids move aside? Li Yunqing and I need to do what adults do—it's not suitable for children!"
As she spoke, Shen Xin shifted in Li Yunqing's lap, causing him to retreat a bit, unable to handle the situation.
Gu Qingqing felt a surge of anger at Shen Xin's taunts. "What do you mean 'what adults do'? I'm an adult too! I can do it just as well!"
With that, Gu Qingqing squeezed into Li Yunqing's lap while Shen Xin pushed her back, preventing her from getting in.
Li Yunqing looked helplessly at the two girls jostling for space in his lap. He glanced at the quiet Wan Hong beside him and gently patted her head. At least Wan Hong was calm.
Wan Hong was enviously watching the two girls when suddenly Li Yunqing patted her head. She looked up at him with a puzzled expression.
Li Yunqing couldn't help but smile at Wan Hong's adorable face. "So cute."
Wan Hong shyly leaned against Li Yunqing's shoulder, unable to meet his gaze.
The two girls, still squabbling for space, noticed Li Yunqing calling Wan Hong cute and turned to see him looking at Wan Hong, who was blushing against his shoulder.
"How infuriating! She's stealing our spot!"
Li Yunqing watched as the two girls glared fiercely at Wan Hong. Feeling their hostility, Wan Hong instinctively shrank back behind Li Yunqing.
Li Yunqing gently patted Shen Xin and Gu Qingqing on their heads. "Alright! Stop bullying Hong Hong!"
Shen Xin glanced at Wan Hong but said nothing more; she simply snuggled closer to Li Yunqing. Wan Hong was shy, and since Li Yunqing wasn't making any moves either, it was clear she wouldn't be able to compete!
Gu Qingqing patted her head and felt that Li Yunqing was even more adorable. She pouted and stared at him with wide eyes.
Li Yunqing, feeling a bit overwhelmed by Shen Xin's playful nudging, glanced at Gu Qingqing, who was looking at him with her big, sparkling eyes.
"Alright, enough of the fuss. It's time to rest. Today is Sunday, and if there's nothing else to do, we can just play here. I'm heading back to my room now."
With that, Li Yunqing awkwardly walked into the bedroom.
Gu Qingqing watched him walk away and found his demeanor a bit strange.
"Is Brother Yunqing not feeling well? Why does he seem a bit off?"
Shen Xin glanced at Li Yunqing before playfully tackling Gu Qingqing.
"We were cuddling with him for so long; why do you think your Li Yunqing is acting like this?"
Gu Qingqing, taken aback by Shen Xin's sudden move, seemed to have an epiphany upon hearing her words.
"Oh! So that's how it is? But I really don't feel anything strange..."
Gu Qingqing said, puzzled, while Shen Xin leaned in closer to examine her big eyes and teased her.
"Why don't you take a guess at what's going on?"
Gu Qingqing's eyes widened as she looked at Shen Xin, who was staring intently at her. "Is this what an experienced woman looks like?!"
