As Li Yunqing and the others exited Lianshan Restaurant, they hailed a taxi by the roadside. Before long, they arrived at Li Yunqing's apartment complex.
Taking the elevator to the sixteenth floor, Li Yunqing opened the door.
"I'm home! However, there usually isn't anyone here, so there are no extra slippers. I guess I'll just wear socks; I often clean the floors myself anyway."
"Alright," he said.
The three girls quickly removed their shoes and entered the living room, glancing around. The simple space featured a television, a large sofa, and a coffee table with some items scattered on it.
At that moment, Li Yunqing's phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number, but it wasn't marked as a sales call, so he answered it.
"Is this Li Yunqing? I'm the security guard of your complex. You have a delivery, but according to community regulations, large items need you to come down for registration."
Li Yunqing realized this must be about the figure he had ordered. "Okay, I'll come down right away."
He hung up and glanced at the three girls sitting on the sofa watching him. "It seems the figure has arrived. The security guard wants me to go down and receive it. You all can look around."
"Sure!"
Li Yunqing nodded and then opened the door to head downstairs.
The three girls exchanged glances before getting off the sofa and starting to explore. Gu Qingqing headed straight for Li Yunqing's bedroom, entering to be greeted by a pleasant fragrance.
"Ah, it smells like Yun Qing Brother!"
Excitedly, Gu Qingqing stepped into the room, merely standing there and taking in her surroundings without touching anything. The decor was also simple: a large bed, a computer desk, a wardrobe, and a nightstand.
Suddenly, Gu Qingqing noticed a helmet on the nightstand. "What's this? A helmet? Why is it in the bedroom?"
Curious, she looked at it for a moment before placing it back where she found it without touching it further.
Meanwhile, Shen Xin had wandered into the kitchen and looked around, finding nothing out of place.
It was quite clean, and Xiao Yunqing thought about helping with the cleaning.
Shen Xin opened the refrigerator and took a look. Inside, there were a bunch of drinks and a pot of lard, while the freezer contained some sausages and cured meats.
No alcohol? What a pity.
Wan Hong didn’t join the other two, who were casually looking around, but instead went to the balcony. The balcony was relatively spacious, with a small table and a chair, along with some potted plants nearby.
Wan Hong glanced down; it was daytime, so she couldn’t see any beauty below.
She crouched down to examine the potted plants, which included a money tree, some small succulents, and even a climbing watermelon vine. Wan Hong watched intently, as she loved plants.
Like her, the plants were quiet and uncommunicative.
The three women each spent some time in their own spots before switching places. Gu Qingqing went to the kitchen, Shen Xin headed to the balcony, and Wan Hong moved to the bedroom.
Meanwhile, Li Yunqing had finished checking in and instructed the seller’s representative to help carry the figures as he walked toward the elevator.
The figures were packed in boxes—two in total. Li Yunqing easily slung one over his shoulder while the other four awkwardly lifted one box together.
A standard figure weighed about seventy pounds or so; this particular one was a bit heavier at around eighty pounds. Adding in the ten or so pounds of the wooden box brought it to over a hundred pounds.
If they were worried that one person couldn’t manage it alone, having two people carry a box seemed extravagant; unlike Li Yunqing, who effortlessly carried his box with one hand.
Before long, they reached the sixteenth floor. Li Yunqing knocked on the door and heard footsteps approaching.
Coming! Coming!
Gu Qingqing opened the door and saw Li Yunqing carrying the wooden box with one hand. She hurried into the living room.
Li Yunqing changed his shoes and placed the box inside the living room, glancing at the four people still at the door.
You all can go ahead; I’ll just bring in the box.
Alright, then we’ll head out first.
The four waved goodbye to Li Yunqing before leaving.
Li Yunqing brought in the remaining box from outside and closed the door behind him.
