The gentle sunlight bathed the land of Shu Han as Su Yizhi and Lin Yu walked side by side along a winding path, wildflowers swaying lightly in the breeze beside them. Su Yizhi wore a cheerful expression and turned to Lin Yu, saying, “Lin Brother, today I want to introduce you to a friend of mine. His name is Fu Xingchen, a man of great righteousness. Like us, he is dedicated to saving the common people in these chaotic times.”
A glimmer of curiosity flashed in Lin Yu's eyes as he asked, “ Brother Su, where is this Brother Fu from? I would very much like to meet such a chivalrous person.”
Just as Su Yizhi was about to respond, he spotted Fu Xingchen striding towards them from a distance. With an upright posture and steady steps, Su Yizhi raised his hand to greet him. “Fu Brother, over here!”
Fu Xingchen quickly approached, and Su Yizhi smiled as he introduced the two. “Fu Brother, this is Lin Yu, my companion who has devoted himself wholeheartedly to the welfare of the people since we met. Lin Brother, this is Fu Xingchen, whom I just mentioned.”
Fu Xingchen and Lin Yu exchanged respectful bows. Lin Yu said, “I have long admired Brother Fu’s reputation. I have heard that you have acted with great valor and rescued many common people; it is truly commendable.”
Fu Xingchen humbly waved his hand. “Lin Brother overstates my deeds. In these chaotic times, it is my honor to have another like-minded companion.”
As the three continued their conversation while walking forward, they shared their observations and experiences in this tumultuous world, their words filled with concern for the suffering of the common people.
Upon entering a deep valley, an unusual silence enveloped them; only the sound of their footsteps echoed within. Suddenly, a sharp whistle shattered the tranquility. A group of bandits sprang from the bushes on either side of the valley, swiftly surrounding them.
“This road is mine; this tree is mine! If you wish to pass through here, leave behind some toll!” shouted a burly bandit leader wielding a broadsword with a fierce glare.
Su Yizhi frowned and quietly said to Fu Xingchen and Lin Yu, “Lin Brother, find an opportunity to hide somewhere safe later. Brother Fu, it seems we are in for a tough battle today.”
Fu Xingchen nodded slightly. “That suits me well; these scoundrels harm the people. Today we must show them what they deserve.”
Stepping forward, Su Yizhi shouted loudly, “You claim this tree is yours? This road is yours? Today I will show you the price of disrespecting the Royal Law!”
The bandits erupted in laughter, and the leader mocked him. “Royal Law? In this valley, I am the Royal Law! Brothers, let’s go! Grab all their valuables!”
The bandits charged forward with weapons drawn. Su Yizhi swiftly drew his sword and instantly repelled several of the advancing bandits. Meanwhile, Fu Xingchen nimbly maneuvered among them, each strike precisely targeting their vital points. Lin Yu took advantage of the chaos to hide behind a large rock, anxiously watching the unfolding battle.
However, the robbers were well-trained and outnumbered them, causing Su Yizhi and Fu Xingchen to feel increasingly overwhelmed, with several wounds appearing on their bodies.
At that critical moment, a white figure descended from above the valley. It was Mu Yunfan, dressed in white brocade and wielding a long sword, his posture graceful.
"Despicable thieves, cease your arrogance!" Mu Yunfan shouted, thrusting his sword forward and instantly injuring several robbers.
Seeing their savior arrive, Su Yizhi and Fu Xingchen felt a surge of hope. Su Yizhi thought to himself, "This brother has come at just the right time!"
Once Mu Yunfan joined the battle, the tide quickly turned. Su Yizhi unleashed fierce swordplay, attacking head-on, while Fu Xingchen executed agile moves to defend the flanks. Mu Yunfan showcased his exceptional lightness skill, weaving through the robbers and striking with deadly precision. The three worked seamlessly together, pushing the robbers back relentlessly.
Realizing the situation was dire, the robber leader shouted, "Retreat!" The robbers scattered like birds fleeing from danger.
The three paused to catch their breath. Su Yizhi stepped forward and cupped his hands in salute to Mu Yunfan. "Thank you for your assistance, brother. If you hadn't arrived in time, we would have suffered greatly today."
Mu Yunfan smiled and returned the gesture. "It is only right to help those in need when I see injustice. From your actions, it is clear you are also people of righteousness."
Fu Xingchen chimed in from the side, "What this brother says is true. I can see that you possess remarkable skills and have come to aid us out of a sense of justice. You must be here to save the common people from these chaotic times?"
Mu Yunfan nodded. "Indeed. I witnessed the suffering of the people in Eastern Wu and could not bear it any longer. I have long wished to do my part to change this world."
Su Yizhi's eyes lit up. "That is excellent! We share the same ideals. Why not form a team together to uphold justice and rescue the common people in this chaotic era? What do you think, brother?"
A glimmer of surprise flashed in Mu Yunfan's eyes as he replied without hesitation, "That sounds wonderful!"
Fu Xingchen laughed heartily. "Great! From now on, we shall fight side by side!"
Mu Yunfan seemed to suddenly remember something, his eyes brightening as he turned and called out towards the side of the valley, "Zhao Gang, come over here!" At his call, a burly man strode out from the woods. Mu Yunfan introduced him to the others, saying, "This is Brother Zhao Gang. Since we met, he has been by my side, tirelessly working for the people." He then continued, "Zhao Gang, let me introduce you to these heroes: Su Yizhi and Brother Fu."
At that moment, Su Yizhi also recalled Lin Yu and proceeded to introduce him to everyone.
Zhao Gang clasped his fists together and spoke in a booming voice, "It is truly an honor to meet all of you today. If there is ever a need for Zhao in the future, do not hesitate to ask!"
Su Yizhi and the others returned the greeting, with Su Yizhi smiling as he said, "With Brother Zhao joining us, our team is certainly strengthened!"
Thus, the five of them set off together, discussing their experiences and aspirations along the way.
"I have seen much suffering among the common people in Eastern Wu, and witnessed the corruption of officials. I have always yearned to change this," Mu Yunfan stated.
"We feel the same in Cao Wei and Shu Han. If this world does not change soon, the people will never find peace," Su Yizhi lamented.
"That is why we must unite and let the light of justice shine across the land," Fu Xingchen declared with determination.
They traversed mountains and rivers, helping one village after another. In a town plagued by banditry, they organized the locals for defense and trained self-defense forces, successfully repelling multiple attacks from robbers.
During one mission to aid disaster victims, they uncovered evidence of government officials embezzling disaster relief funds. Fearlessly confronting the corrupt officials, they ultimately secured justice for the victims.
As time passed, their reputation grew larger, attracting many like-minded individuals eager to join their cause.
