Lin Mo had never imagined that a routine drive on a rainy night would completely change his life. The rain poured down heavily, and the wipers on the windshield swung wildly, yet they could not fully clear the thick layer of water stains. Lin Mo squinted, trying to see the road ahead. His second-hand sedan skidded slightly on the slick surface, the tires making a faint screeching sound as they struggled for grip. A musty odor filled the car, a scent accumulated over years in this old vehicle, mingling with the dampness of the rain and creating an oppressive atmosphere. 0

"This damn weather..." Lin Mo muttered under his breath, tapping his fingers lightly on the steering wheel. His mood was far from good; work had gone awry today, and his boss's scolding still echoed in his ears. He sighed and reached to turn up the volume on the radio, hoping that music would help dispel his frustration. 0

However, before the music could fully play, a blinding light suddenly shot from the opposite lane. Lin Mo instinctively squinted, his heart racing. An out-of-control truck was barreling toward him at an alarming speed, its wheels skidding on the wet road and producing a deafening screech. 0

"No!" Lin Mo instinctively jerked the steering wheel in an attempt to evade it, but it was too late. 0

In that instant of collision, time seemed to freeze. Lin Mo felt his body being torn apart by an immense force, his consciousness gradually fading. He saw flashes of his life racing before his eyes—childhood laughter, youthful confusion, adult struggles… everything came to a sudden halt in that moment. 0

Yet just when he thought he was about to die, a strange power surged from within him. Lin Mo felt his consciousness being pulled into an endless vortex, everything around him becoming distorted and blurry. He seemed to be in an infinite dark space, with a low humming sound echoing in his ears. 0

"Where is this...?" Lin Mo tried to struggle but found himself completely immobilized. It felt as if some invisible force was binding him, making even breathing difficult. 0

Suddenly, a blinding white light exploded before him, and Lin Mo felt himself being violently thrown out. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself sitting in the car; the rain was still falling, the wipers still moving, and that truck… had vanished. 0

"What just happened?" Lin Mo gasped for breath, his heart pounding like a drum. He looked down at his hands and found them unharmed, as if everything that had just occurred was merely an illusion. 0

But when he glanced at the rearview mirror, he noticed a strange striation on his forehead—like some ancient symbol that faintly glowed with blue light. 0

"What… is this?" Lin Mo reached up to touch the striation but felt a sharp pain as if something were writhing beneath his skin. 0

He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. Yet images of what had just transpired replayed in his mind—the truck, the blinding light, that tearing force… everything felt so real yet utterly unbelievable. 0

"Could it be… I just traveled through time?" Lin Mo murmured to himself, a mix of inexplicable fear and excitement swelling within him. 0

At that moment, his phone suddenly rang. Lin Mo picked it up; an unfamiliar number flashed on the screen. After hesitating for a moment, he answered the call. 0

"Lin Mo, you’re finally awake," said a deep male voice on the other end, carrying an undeniable authority. 0

"Who are you?" Lin Mo asked warily. 0

"I am a member of the Time Guardian," came the cold and serious reply. "You are in great danger. You have just experienced a Time-Space Rift traversal, and your body… has already begun to be eroded by a curse." 0

"A curse? What curse?" Lin Mo's heart raced as he noticed that the striation on his forehead seemed to become more pronounced. 0

"You will understand soon enough," there was a pause before he continued. "Remember not to use your abilities lightly; otherwise… you will pay an unbearable price." 0

The call ended abruptly, leaving Lin Mo stunned and confused. He looked down at his hands again; the striation still glowed faintly as if reminding him that his fate had been irrevocably altered. 0

After hanging up, silence enveloped the car. The sound of rain outside seemed sharper now; each drop hitting the window felt like it was striking at his nerves. He stared at his phone screen; that unfamiliar number remained at the top of his call log as if silently reminding him that everything that had just happened was not an illusion. 0

“Time Guardian... a curse... what on earth is happening?” Lin Mo murmured to himself, feeling a faint heat radiating from the Striation on his forehead, as if it were responding to his confusion. 0

Taking a deep breath, he decided to return home before making any plans. Once he started the car, Lin Mo drove cautiously, wary of any further mishaps. The rain continued to fall, and the streets were sparsely populated, with the glow of the streetlights appearing particularly hazy through the curtain of rain. 0

Upon arriving home, Lin Mo stood in front of the bathroom mirror, scrutinizing the Striation on his forehead. The symbol was not complex, yet it exuded an ancient and mysterious aura, as if it contained some unknown power. 0

“What exactly is this...” Lin Mo whispered, reaching out to gently touch the Striation. A sharp pain shot through him, causing him to instinctively pull back his hand. 0

He opened his computer and attempted to search online for similar symbols, but no matter how he searched, he found no relevant information. Just as he was about to give up, an inconspicuous forum post caught his eye. 0

“The relationship between Ancient Mysterious Symbols and Time-Space Rift...” Lin Mo clicked on the post and discovered mentions of ancient civilizations and legends of time travel. Although most of the content seemed absurd, one image struck him—an emblem strikingly similar to the Striation on his forehead. 0

“Could this really be related to time travel?” Lin Mo's mind replayed the scene from the accident. He vividly remembered the strange force he felt at the brink of death and the white light that pulled him into a dark space. 0

“If I can truly traverse time and space...” A surge of inexplicable impulse welled up within him. He decided to give it a try. 0

The next morning, Lin Mo arrived at work early. His emotions were even more complex than the day before, as memories of last night replayed in his mind—the mysterious phone call, the faint heat from the Striation on his forehead... everything weighed heavily on him like an invisible pressure. 0

Sitting at his desk, he absently flipped through documents while his thoughts raced with how to investigate his newfound abilities. He knew he couldn't use that power lightly, but without trying, he would never uncover the truth. 0
