More than a dozen vans unloaded their cargo and scattered into Irkutsk. A burly man opened a black box, revealing a high-precision firearm inside, accompanied by thermal and red dot sights. Lifting the top layer, he found three spare barrels and some accessories beneath it.
The original barrels and sights were procured directly from Ba Yangyang through my connections, so rest assured, they are definitely not replicas. He took the cigarette that Alexei handed him and lit it. "We have ammunition available domestically, so I didn't bring too much."
Xu Li nodded, somewhat awkwardly assembling the firearm. He raised it and scanned the surroundings, nodding in satisfaction. "Not bad."
He tossed it to Alexei and invited the burly man back into the house. After settling in the living room, he turned his notebook toward the man. "Please enter your card number."
"You are quite straightforward!" The burly man chuckled as he entered the numbers. Xu Li paid the full amount at once, clicked the confirmation button, and then got up to head to the kitchen. He cut some watermelon and brought it over. "Since the amount is quite large, it might take a while to process. If you don't mind, stay for a meal."
"Sure, this order of yours is worth more than what I earn in two months." He didn’t refuse, taking a big bite of watermelon. "Only someone with your connections could get Brother Boyka to contact me directly; otherwise, I wouldn't have felt secure, fearing that some old rival might come looking for trouble."
"Haha! How do you know my Brother Boyka?"
"He saved my father and me." The burly man wiped his mouth with a tissue and took the cigarette Xu Li offered him. "Speaking of which, I've known Boyka for quite some time now. Back then, he was just a private in Signal Flag, always out on missions."
"I was just a teenager then, a complete brat following my father around everywhere. My father had bought a military supply depot outside Kyiv at a low price long ago and made some money selling off its contents. Occasionally, he acted as an intermediary for various clients, providing professional veterans. Eventually, I lost interest in school and started hanging out with my father instead. That led to trouble when his rivals cornered us in a slum in Baghdad."
At that time, Boyka's squad was there capturing traitors who had fled the country. They ran into mercenaries chasing us, and naturally, a fight broke out. We helped Boyka fight back, and that’s how our connection began.
Xu Li nodded. "If it's convenient for you, let’s exchange contact numbers. If any new weapons come in, I’ll reach out to you for one to add to my collection."
"That would be great; this is what I do for a living." The two exchanged contact information just as a notification popped up on Xu Li's phone: You have received more than enough from Makarov.
"The extra tens of thousands are just a welcome gift." Xu Li chuckled as he patted the man's arm. "You take a break; I'll go cook. Today we’ll have a drink together."
He then went back to the kitchen to busy himself while Makarov wandered around the living room before heading out to check on Alexei inspecting equipment. Seeing how meticulous Alexei was in his checks made him scoff slightly: "Do you still not trust me?"
"Trust you?" Alexei rolled his eyes dramatically. "It was your intel that almost got our entire team killed last time! What do you mean by that?"
You can't blame me; I was just gathering information for you.
