"Is this your girlfriend?" Larryf asked. 0

Anna, holding Xu Jiaxi, approached their table. Larryf and Ivan quickly stood up. "Aunt Anna!" 0

Little Natasha, munching on a duck leg, smiled sweetly at Anna. "Anna Grandma!" 0

"Such a good girl, eat more," Anna said, ruffling Little Natasha's hair. She glanced at the shy girl and couldn't help but pat Larryf on the back. "Out of the five young men, your Natasha is the prettiest." 0

"Of course! Zhukov and Valentin can't compare to her!" Larryf chuckled. 0

Seeing her son so proud and happy, Valery smiled and nudged the reserved Tamishova with some dishes. "This is Sister Anna; she is the wife of our village chief and a really nice person." 0

"She looks so young! Is she even thirty?" Tamishova asked, astonished as she watched Anna move to another table. 0

Valery chuckled. "Anna is already forty; she'll be forty-one after this year. She takes good care of herself, so she looks young. She and her sister are indeed our peers along with the village chief." 0

"Our village's first chief was Anna's dad. When I brought Natalia and the kids to the village, Makarov had just arrived; he was only sixteen then. Time flies—it’s been fifteen years in the blink of an eye." 0

"Yeah," Natalia sighed in agreement, reaching out to pat Old Son's head. "Our Old Five and Old Liu are the luckiest, especially Old Liu—Larryf. When he was born, our family started doing well in the village; we saved up some money." 0

"I didn't keep a close eye on his studies; that rascal managed to fool around instead. He spends all his time with Zhukov and the others, getting into fights every year. I told him not to hang out with them, but he never listens. Luckily, Valery is older now and helps out at the ranch for a few more years. Once Larryf grows up a bit more, he'll take Valery's place and earn an extra twenty thousand in dividends each year." 0

"That much money?" Tamishova and Natasha exchanged incredulous glances. 0

Valery nodded with a smile. "Our family has three men sharing dividends; apart from the Andreev family, we're the only ones like that in the village. There are over ten households with two people; everyone else has just one." 0

"My eldest helps raise reindeer at the ranch, while my daughter-in-law drives a bus. We have two buses in our village—one in the morning and one at noon—that run to nearby towns and Bratsk. During holidays, both buses go to Irkutsk since many kids from our village go there for school." 0

At this point, he set down his glass and looked seriously at Natasha, who was listening intently. "Remember this, kid: whether you're out having fun or dealing with something else, don't be afraid of anyone. No child from our village gets taken advantage of. If someone dares to bully you, just call your uncle." 0

"There are people in our village with guns and tanks; even the Village Chief's House has a small ammunition depot. Just like last month—whoever dares to bully our village kids will face us with guns drawn! Do you know why nothing happened last month despite all that commotion?" 0

Natasha shook her head innocently. 0

Larryf grinned widely. "Because our village chief has connections around here! Not just in Irkutsk but even in Moscow; our chief can speak up for us! That’s our confidence!" 0
