Uncle.
With a cheerful wave of his hand, he plopped down on the sofa, opened the cigar box on the coffee table, and gestured to Xu Weihua. When he saw the other man shake his head, he took one out for himself, clipped the end, toasted it over the flame, and finally lit it up with satisfaction.
"When are you two releasing a new song?"
Xu Weihua took a sip of watermelon juice and smacked his lips. "Probably in the first half of next month. The song is ready; we just need to shoot the video before we can release it."
Alexander scratched his chin and patted Xu Weixia on the shoulder. "Send me a copy when it's done. Your aunt and I would like to give it a listen."
"Sure, once we finish, we'll get one to you at the company."
Xu Weihua nodded and then asked, "Uncle, are you really the owner of this house?"
"Not at all."
Alexander raised his chin and then slapped Xu Weixia's thigh, causing him to grimace in pain. "Do you have to hit so hard?"
"My daughter has already been taken away by you; what's wrong with giving you a slap?"
Old Russian shot him a sideways glance. "In a few days, you and Angelina should go get your marriage certificate."
"Isn't that too soon?"
Xu Weixia was somewhat taken aback, but Alexander grinned widely. "It's not too early. Last night her grandfather went to the hospital and expressed his approval of you. He might even want to chat with you later; just don't be scared."
"He's my elder; why would I be scared?"
He chuckled and scratched his head, engaging in casual conversation with his future father-in-law while Xu Weihua chimed in occasionally. The three of them didn’t find it boring in the living room.
"This is your great-aunt Maria."
In the evening, Xu Weixia was called out of the bedroom by Alexander. In the living room sat an intelligent-looking woman who scrutinized him with sharp eyes before smiling slightly in satisfaction. She embraced the tall young man. "You sing quite well; I'm your fan!"
"Thank you, Auntie!"
He habitually scratched his head, feeling a bit shy. After greeting Maria, a slightly plump figure approached from behind him with a smile and gently patted his shoulder.
"Boss? What brings you here?"
Xu Weixia turned around to see Yekaterina, the head of his company, smiling as she raised her hand. He understood immediately and leaned in closer, allowing her to rub his cheeks with both hands. "I'm your boss and also your aunt; now you should understand why everyone at the company treats you so politely."
"I get it; thank you, Auntie."
He pouted slightly as he spoke, his words somewhat unclear. Alexander watched with a smile from the side, and after they all exchanged greetings, he led him to the study. Pavel Nikolaevich had arrived.
On the sofa sat a man who closed the newspaper blocking his face, revealing a familiar visage that appeared on television every day. Xu Weixia stared blankly at the older man before suddenly breaking into a grin. "Grandpa, you really look like Peter the Great!"
"Do you think so too?"
The Tsar chuckled warmly, beckoning him to sit beside him. "I've been observing you for a while, Nikola. I am quite satisfied with your performance; at the very least, you are far better than your two useless former uncles."
