"Don't you hate those people too, Dad? Why are you defending them?" 0

Old Andrei sighed, "I dislike those who exploit others. The girls Ivan mentioned, I know a bit about them. They often have tough lives; those with looks end up as prostitutes, saving a little money to live out their days in some village alone. The less fortunate ones turn to crime and end up spending their lives in prison." 0

He looked at his silent son-in-law. "Men have it somewhat easier; they can find work to make a living. But those girls are different. They lack competitive skills for legitimate jobs and end up in despair." 0

"That's true, Misha," Ivan continued. "We often receive reports from those who turn themselves in. A significant number are women in their forties. You know how unforgiving society can be toward those who have been incarcerated." 0

"If you take them in and provide them with a place to stand on their own, they will be grateful for life," Ivan added with a grin. "If they can find partners and continue living in the village, our community will only grow larger. You used to worry about having no one around; now that people are coming, why not embrace it? Just think of it as helping out a friend." 0

Xu Li asked, "How do these girls end up on this path?" 0

Brother Ivan chuckled and slapped his thigh. "How else? They encounter irresponsible boys. Young girls in their teens don’t know any better; a few sweet words and some small gifts can easily lead many country girls astray. Once they’re together for a while, these scoundrels will subtly introduce them to that world, using it to control them and make money off them. I've seen it happen too many times over the years." 0

"They sound pitiful," Zhuo Ya said, her heart aching as she looked at her father. "Dad, why don't we help them?" 0

Xu Li rubbed his face and finally sighed, "Just this once." 0

Ivan smiled and nodded, "I'll have someone notify them. We'll send a car to pick them up from our building tomorrow morning so they can come back with you." 0

Xu Li nodded and finished his meal before heading to the guest room to rest. Ivan changed his shoes, grabbed the car keys, and stepped outside, likely arranging for those marginalized by society. Zhuo Ya clung to her grandfather, eager to hear more stories about that world. 0

Old Andrei sat on the sofa, stroking Zhuo Ya's long platinum hair. He realized how much she had grown and chuckled, "In just a few years, Zhuo Ya will be looking for a boyfriend. You better keep your eyes open; your father will need to approve him first. As long as he gives the green light, you can confidently live your life with that boy." 0

"I don't want any immature boys! I love Mom and Dad; I want to be with you forever!" Zhuo Ya pouted as she curled up on the sofa, resting her head on her grandmother's shoulder. "No one in the world is better than you two! The boys in my class are so annoying; all they do is play games! They're just like Peter; I don't like them at all." 0

Her big eyes twinkled as she whispered, "Actually, girls are pretty great too." 0

"Yes, boys like your father are rare," Old Andrei remarked with a sigh of nostalgia. "When you grow up, stay away from chaotic places—especially bars. There’s nothing good there; why would anyone want to go to such places?" 0

What your uncle just said about those girls is true; many of them fell into ruin in places like that, ultimately harming themselves. Good habits require your constant perseverance, while bad habits can take root with just a single thought. 0

He glanced at his granddaughter, who was pouting, shook his head, and decided not to lecture her any further. 0
