The car looks pretty good.
Safna, holding Katyusha, stood in front of a wine-red Dolphin Car, her eyes filled with affection. Nephew, however, was captivated by a nearby vehicle—a sleek black warrior with muscular lines. His Adam's apple bobbed as he said, "I really like this one."
"Do you like it?" Xu Li asked quietly, standing beside Nephew. Nephew nodded vigorously. Xu Li chuckled, "Then you need to work hard to earn money and buy one for yourself. Your uncle will send you two boxes of fireworks to celebrate."
That was as good as saying nothing at all.
Nephew rolled his eyes and wandered off. Xu Li shrugged and approached the Dolphin Car, waving to the salesperson. "Do you have any high-spec models available?"
"Yes, we do," the salesperson replied.
The salesperson led Xu Li to the back lot where they confirmed everything was in order before signing the papers and making the payment. Meanwhile, Anna and Eva took the children to explore the mall. Compared to energy-efficient cars, they preferred high-powered diesel SUVs.
So, Xu Li had asked Valery's brother-in-law, Lekshev, to use his connections and slip some money to order two vehicles for them. They weren't top-tier armored cars—those were too expensive and out of reach for them.
Instead of the top-tier five-ton models, he ordered two diesel versions weighing just under four tons each. He added two extra fuel tanks beneath the cargo bed—one in matte black and the other in warrior black. With connections and the purchase combined, he spent a total of four hundred fifty thousand US dollars.
All the money he earned over the past few years went into these two vehicles and a batch of breeding bulls. However, he felt it was worth it; once the bulls started working, he would recoup his investment within two years at most. The main reason was that he hadn't given his wife any decent gifts over the years, which left him feeling somewhat guilty.
Now that his wife had her driver's license, buying a car was naturally a priority. With a car, she wouldn't have to stay home reading books during winter; she could drive to Irkutsk to see their children whenever she wanted.
"Thank you, Uncle!" Safna exclaimed as she hugged Xu Li while holding the flowers given by the salesperson and clutching the car keys. Nephew stood nearby with Katyusha, grinning foolishly. Xu Li smiled and said, "Take your husband and kids for a ride in the car. From now on, Zhuo Ya and Peter will be your responsibility."
"Yes! Zhuo Ya has received high praise from Teacher Anya, but Peter needs more supervision. Don't worry, Uncle; I'll keep an eye on him."
"Alright then," Xu Li waved them off as they drove away in their little seagull car. He called Anna to confirm which mall they were at before dialing the delivery service: "Please park the car at Maria Mall's entrance; I'm on my way."
After hanging up, he drove his Menzhishandai across the street from the mall and parked it before heading into a shop. He found a florist and bought two bouquets of roses just as his phone buzzed: "We're here."
"Okay."
He tucked away his phone and stepped outside to find an enormous two-door SUV parked right at the mall entrance. The security guard wanted them to move it when a man in camouflage winter gear pulled out his credentials and exchanged a few words with him. The security guard shrugged and stepped aside.
Makarov approached first.
The man embraced Xu Li warmly before gesturing toward the warrior black vehicle beside him: "Here's the car you wanted."
"Haha! Thank you so much, Ivanov!"
Xu Li stuffed a stack of Franklins into his pocket just as another burly man approached. Taking advantage of the moment while they embraced, he slipped the prepared Franklins into the man's pocket—a small gesture of goodwill.
