Eva, sitting at the front, saw Anna holding a bouquet of fresh flowers and immediately began to shake her legs excitedly. Xu Li smiled and stretched out another bouquet from behind her, offering it to Eva. "Do you like it, Eva?"
"I like it!"
Children are easy to please, and these two sisters were even easier. After riding the carousel, Xu Li took them to play ring toss and whack-a-mole, along with several other less daring attractions. While the sisters were using air guns to shoot at targets, they quietly conspired to sneak up beside Xu Li. "We're all set."
"Good."
He nodded and continued watching them play until they had their fill of fun. Then he led them deeper into the park, where the surroundings grew darker and more secluded. The sisters clung to their father's arm in fear.
Xu Li pulled his arms away from their embrace and turned to face them, holding their slightly cold hands. "In early summer, when we first met, I thought to myself how could there be such beautiful girls in this world?"
His sudden words made the sisters blush. Xu Li tightened his grip on their small hands. "Popov and Pushkin, along with that annoying old man Youan, scared me so much with their Bomba and Hand Grenade that I cried. But you comforted me."
"Later, you took me mushroom picking and taught me how to ride horses and build snowmen. You even helped me raise our children. When you were pregnant, you hid your discomfort from me so that I wouldn’t worry."
"We spent every day together, and you never demanded anything from me. You took such good care of our little ones. At that time, I had nothing to give you a memorable wedding, which has always weighed on my heart."
He wiped away tears that he didn’t realize had fallen as he ran deeper into the darkness, leaving his two bewildered wives behind. Just when they felt scared, a pair of aged yet warm hands grasped their trembling little ones.
Anna turned her head and immediately burst into tears. "Daddy! Misha ran away!"
"Wow! Misha doesn’t want me anymore! Misha!"
Eva reacted much more strongly; the days she had spent apart from Xu Li added up to no more than ten. Every morning she would wake up to find him had prepared a delicious meal for her and called her to eat. In the evenings, he would tell them magical stories.
Now that her husband was gone, she didn’t know how she would face life.
"Hey now, silly girl, don’t cry. Daddy will take you to find Misha."
Old Andrei wiped away the girls' tears and snot as he led them forward step by step. The sisters pouted their lips and sniffled while holding onto their father's large hand just like when they were little.
Suddenly, two spotlights illuminated from beside them, shining beautifully on the two bouquets of Rosebuds nearby. Before the sisters could marvel at it, every time they took a couple of steps forward, lights would illuminate at their feet along with those bundles of love represented by Rosebuds.
As they followed their father down the flower path, two rows of towering Xue Yan Ling suddenly burst forth from the roadside. The vibrant Red Carpet was beneath their feet as they walked on it. At the end of the carpet stood a man in a tuxedo with a buzz cut, holding two large bouquets of stunning Rosebuds and smiling at them.
Although the sisters were not fully aware of everything around them, it didn’t mean they were completely ignorant. Seeing their father waving fresh flowers at them not far away brought tears of joy to their eyes.
Just moments ago, the young girls who had done their makeup suddenly dashed out from both sides of the trees with fabric curtains to block them off before quickly dressing them in wedding gowns that had been prepared in advance.
Xu Weihua and Xu Weixia, dressed in elegant formal attire, stood by, waiting with their younger siblings. The staff had finished setting up the red carpet, and the adorable little ones in their tiny suits lined up on either side.
Under the spotlight of the exquisite high-fashion wedding gowns, the sisters appeared even more stunning. Andrei leaned down and kissed his daughters on their foreheads, his voice slightly choked with emotion. "At that time, your father only hoped that someone would be there to take care of you, which is why he brought Makarov back to the village."
