"Nan Gong Xuan, your 'Parallel World Spiritual Energy Delivery' order has been personally delivered by me! I hope you can give a five-star review after receiving it!" Lin Yuan stood at the entrance of the core area, grinning widely, a bottle of soda swinging in his hand as if he had come for a picnic rather than a fight. "Clink clink clink..." He twisted off the cap and took a deliberate sip, looking completely at ease.
Nan Gong Xuan's face turned ashen as she glared at the screen in the surveillance room, gritting her teeth. "Lin Yuan! You just won't go away! I want to see what you can do to stop me!" She slammed her hand on the table, making the teacups jump.
"Stop you? No, no, no," Lin Yuan waved his hand dismissively. "I just came to admire your 'masterpiece' and collect my delivery fee. You know how prices are skyrocketing these days; delivery fees aren't cheap!" He pretended to calculate costs with his fingers, looking quite serious.
Before he finished speaking, Lin Yuan's figure flickered and he instantly appeared inside the core area. Instead of going straight for Nan Gong Xuan, he curiously surveyed his surroundings. The core area was even more fortified than the outer perimeter, filled with flickering red laser security grids and cold metal walls, an atmosphere of lethal intent hanging in the air.
"Tsk tsk, this decor style is truly... minimal yet not simple!" Lin Yuan commented while dodging a sudden laser beam.
Almost simultaneously, five elite guards from the Qi Gong Association surrounded him from all directions. Among them was Han Lingyun, her eyes glinting with cold light as she formed a sphere of blue Lingqi in her hand, transforming it into a sharp long sword aimed directly at Lin Yuan.
"Oh, isn't this Miss Han? Long time no see! Hope you're doing well!" Lin Yuan greeted cheerfully. "What’s this? Are you delivering too? Since we’re rivals in this line of work, let’s have a little competition today to see who delivers faster!"
"Lin Yuan, you're dead meat!" Han Lingyun shouted angrily. With a sweep of her sword, a fierce sword energy shot toward Lin Yuan's face. This was no ordinary sword energy; it was infused with high concentrations of Lingqi, known as "Condensing Qi into a Blade," sharp enough to cut through gold and jade.
"Hey now, don’t be so worked up; you might hurt yourself," Lin Yuan said as he effortlessly dodged the sword energy. He activated the Time Manipulator, causing time around him to slow down dramatically. To everyone else, Lin Yuan moved like a ghost, impossible to catch.
"Wow, at this speed, even Bolt couldn't catch up!" Lin Yuan teased as he circled around Han Lingyun in amazement. "That pose is great for a sculpture; should I take a picture for you?"
With that, Lin Yuan made a funny face at Han Lingyun and gently slapped her shoulder. As time returned to normal speed, Han Lingyun felt an overwhelming force hit her, sending her body flying uncontrollably backward until she crashed against the metal wall with a muffled grunt.
"Hey, don’t damage my treasures!" Lin Yuan looked at the dented wall with concern. "These are high-tech products; repairs are expensive!"
At that moment, Zhou Haoran and Li Qiang arrived at the scene. Zhou Haoran quickly set up high-tech medical equipment, releasing a special electromagnetic wave that interfered with the enemies' perception, dulling their reactions. Meanwhile, Li Qiang maneuvered a small drone overhead, scouting enemy movements and transmitting real-time footage to Lin Yuan's AR glasses.
"What pure Lingqi!" Lin Yuan activated his material decomposition ability, breaking down the surrounding laser defense grid into pure Lingqi and absorbing it into his body. He felt a tremendous surge of power and exclaimed excitedly, "Now I can really let loose and go all out!"
"Lin Yuan, do you think just the few of you can defeat us?" Han Lingyun struggled to stand up, while the other four guards brandished their weapons, preparing to launch another attack. Some wielded high-tech energy guns, others swung specially crafted alloy staffs, and a few formed hand seals, ready to unleash a powerful Qi Gong Wave.
"Of course not," Lin Yuan chuckled. "I have a secret weapon!" He activated the Time Manipulator again, pausing time before signaling to Su Jiu'er.
Understanding immediately, Su Jiu'er took out a compass and began locating the weak points of the base. The compass needle spun rapidly before finally pointing towards the west wall of the core area.
"Found it!" Su Jiu'er pointed in that direction.
Lin Yuan nodded and led everyone to the west wall before activating his material decomposition ability again, creating a large hole in the wall. Outside, the night was dark as ink, dotted with stars.
"Go!" Lin Yuan commanded, and everyone streamed out, disappearing into the night.
Nan Gong Xuan burst out of the monitoring room, looking at the empty core area, trembling with rage. "Lin Yuan! I will kill you!"
Deep within the base, a mysterious figure slowly emerged, watching the scenes on the monitor with a sly smile creeping across their lips. "Interesting, truly interesting! Lin Yuan, you've successfully piqued my interest!"
