A few days ago, a batch of Silver Eggs suddenly appeared at the Agricultural Trade Market in Jianghe City. They were being sold at an exorbitant price—ten dollars each! Even the nutritious Native Chicken Eggs were hardly attracting any interest at such a high price.
Some merchants jokingly urged the owner to lower the price, but he stubbornly shook his head, thumping his chest and insisting that his eggs were exceptionally delicious. He warned that if they didn’t buy now, there would be no stock left later. The owner’s claims became the laughingstock of the Agricultural Trade Market, as everyone thought he was just bragging. After all, who would be foolish enough to buy Native Chicken Eggs for ten dollars each?
Little did they know that the events of the following day would take them by surprise. By six o'clock in the evening, as the Agricultural Trade Market was preparing to close, not a single Silver Egg had been sold. A few merchants chuckled as they got ready to head home, passing by the owner still trying to sell his Silver Eggs, shaking their heads in amusement. Just Native Chicken Eggs, priced at ten dollars each—far too expensive!
At that moment, an elderly woman hurried past and, upon seeing the already closed Agricultural Trade Market, slapped her thigh in frustration. However, when she noticed the owner still selling eggs, her eyes lit up. She struck up a conversation with him and, as expected by the merchants, she gasped in shock at the price of the eggs.
Unfortunately for her, the Agricultural Trade Market had already closed. In the end, she gritted her teeth and bought five eggs while grumbling all the way home. The scene made the surrounding merchants burst into laughter.
“I closed up too early! If I had stayed a little longer, those sales would have been mine!”
“Hahaha! The owner finally made a sale!”
"Hey, that old woman just now seems to be Aunt Zhang from the nearby street."
"Aunt Zhang? You mean that nosy Aunt Zhang? She's relentless! If the eggs from this vendor don't taste good, tomorrow morning will be a disaster!"
"Hahaha, I hope that vendor is okay."
The merchants laughed and dispersed.
The next day, at seven in the morning, the vendor selling Silver Eggs appeared right on time.
Seeing that he had returned, some merchants who had witnessed Aunt Zhang buying eggs the day before curiously watched the entrance.
According to their estimates, after sending her grandson to school, Aunt Zhang would soon come to the Agricultural Trade Market to buy groceries.
At that point, there would be quite a show to watch.
A few merchants exchanged glances and shared a knowing smile.
Less than half an hour later, a commotion suddenly erupted outside. One merchant peeked out curiously and quickly pulled back his head, excitedly shouting:
"Aunt Zhang is here! And she brought a whole bunch of aunties with her! They look furious!"
"Hahaha, that vendor is in trouble!"
"I hope Aunt Zhang doesn't skin him alive!"
"Hahahaha! Don't worry, I'll call the police if needed!"
Inside the Agricultural Trade Market, some merchants eagerly stepped outside to witness the spectacle. Curious passersby were also drawn in by the commotion and, after grasping the situation, stopped to watch at the entrance of the Agricultural Trade Market, eager for entertainment.
Aunt Zhang, with her head full of silver hair and a spirited demeanor, was followed closely by a large group of similarly aged women.
With sharp eyes scanning the surroundings, Aunt Zhang finally locked onto the vendor selling Silver Eggs. A glint flashed in her eyes as she raised her hand and shouted angrily:
"That's him! Charge!"
It was unclear who shouted first, but a dozen old women surged forward like a dark wave.
In an instant, they surrounded the egg vendor.
