In the southwest corner of the second floor, there was a leaping window. Qing Chen stood on the rooftop of the Drunken Immortal Tavern, "If we jump through there, we can reach our target directly."
Ao Tian raised an eyebrow, "...Are you sure you haven't scouted this place beforehand?"
Su Wenxin had already pulled up the city map. "He's right; there's a hidden Hidden Spiritual Channel there."
"I knew it." Ao Tian rolled his eyes, "Master Qing is always prepared."
Qing Chen didn't respond; he simply waved his hand, and a white light traced a graceful arc across the night sky.
"Let's go."
The three of them leaped down.
In the modern city's night, neon lights flickered. Yet ordinary people would never see the three figures weaving between the buildings.
"Interesting," Ao Tian said as he ran, "Doesn't this feel like we're in a movie?"
Su Wenxin scoffed, "Do you think movies have scenes like this?"
She pointed ahead. A mass of pitch-black mist was swirling above the city, extinguishing streetlights in its wake.
"Tsk," Ao Tian tightened his grip on his sword, "Is it getting restless already?"
Qing Chen suddenly stopped. "No, it's waiting for us."
The black mist seemed to understand his words and suddenly coalesced into a humanoid shape.
"Oh," Ao Tian squinted, "That form... I feel like I've seen it somewhere before."
Su Wenxin quickly analyzed the data. "The energy fluctuations are very similar to what ancient texts describe; it's..."
"The Primordial Demon God," Qing Chen interjected, "To be precise, it's a remnant of its will."
The shadow let out a hoarse laugh. "As expected of the Pure Mystic Temple Lord; truly knowledgeable."
"Thank you," Qing Chen said, "but you've got the wrong person."
"Oh?" The shadow turned to Ao Tian. "What about this Mad King? I've heard you have the key."
Ao Tian raised his sword. "What key are you talking about? Care for a drink?"
"Don't play dumb." The shadow looked at Su Wenxin. "That young lady should know, after all, the Su Family is a family of guardians."
Su Wenxin remained expressionless. "Sorry, I'm only interested in the stock market."
The shadow fell silent for a moment before bursting into laughter. "Interesting! Three people, three mouths, all speaking lies."
"Same to you," Ao Tian shrugged. "Aren't you also not telling the truth?"
"Then there's nothing more to discuss."
The shadow suddenly expanded, transforming into a massive vortex. A terrifying pull swept toward them.
"I'll create a protective shield," Su Wenxin said as her fingers danced.
"There's no time," Qing Chen warned.
Ao Tian charged forward. "Then let's go all out!"
The long sword clashed with the black mist, sparks flying. But in the next moment, the blade began to freeze.
"What the hell!" Ao Tian quickly jumped back. "What is this thing?"
Su Wenxin quickly pulled up data. "Temperature -273℃, absolute zero!"
"That's a bit much," Qing Chen said as he flashed forward, wrapping Ao Tian in white light. "Use my power."
Ao Tian grinned. "Then I won't hold back!"
The long sword glimmered with a white light as it lunged once more into the black mist. This time, the blade remained unscathed.
Su Wenxin was not idle either. Her fingertips danced over the Data Stream, rapidly constructing some kind of program.
"Qing Chen, can you give me two more minutes?"
"Depends on him," Qing Chen replied, pointing at Ao Tian.
"Leave it to me!" Ao Tian laughed heartily. "Today, I'll show you the true power of the Mad King!"
Suddenly, his sword split into thousands, each one enveloped in Qing Chen's white light, weaving a vast net across the night sky.
The black mist was forced to halt its expansion, continuously shifting its form in an attempt to break through Sword Net.
"Hurry up," Ao Tian said, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. "This guy is a bit fierce."
Su Wenxin did not look up. "Just wait 30 more seconds."
"We can't wait any longer!" Ao Tian suddenly shouted. "It's going to—damn!"
The black mist abruptly contracted and then exploded with a deafening roar. A terrifying shockwave surged forth.
Thousands of swords shattered in an instant.
"It's over," Ao Tian said with a bitter smile.
At that moment, Su Wenxin looked up. "Done!"
The Data Stream coalesced into a beam of light that shot straight into the sky. In the next second, the entire city's Electric Power System activated simultaneously, countless beams of light converging together.
"Modern Cultivation techniques?" The black mist let out a mocking laugh. "You think this kind of—"
Qing Chen suddenly interjected, "Transform."
The light suddenly became blinding. The black mist let out a shriek and began to dissipate rapidly.
"What is this..." Ao Tian exclaimed, dumbfounded.
Su Wenxin explained, "It converts the city's electricity into spiritual energy, and then through Qing Chen's Purification..."
"I understand now!" Ao Tian said excitedly. "This is the legendary technology of Cultivation?"
Before the black mist completely vanished, it left behind one last remark:
"Interesting... truly interesting... Three Fates on the Same Path, should be today..."
Once the threat was eliminated, the three of them breathed a sigh of relief.
"So," Ao Tian sheathed his sword, "about that key from earlier..."
Qing Chen interjected, "This isn't the time to discuss that."
Su Wenxin glanced at her phone. "Indeed, the police are on their way."
"Let's disperse," Qing Chen said. "We'll talk another day."
"Wait!" Ao Tian suddenly became serious. "About that prophecy..."
"I'll look into it," Su Wenxin replied.
"So will I," Qing Chen nodded.
