As Shi Tian and Li Ziyu left the Fishing Tackle Shop, they didn't head straight back to Suzhou; instead, they decided to dig for Wang Chao again. Last night’s experience had left them wanting more, so they made a special trip to try their luck once more.
This time, armed with experience, they planned to dig a bit more and bring some back for Yun Wan'er and the others to taste, allowing a few of the older folks to indulge as well.
“Old man, we’re here to dig again. Can we borrow your shovel?” They knocked on the door of Hermit Sage and offered a pack of cigarettes as a gesture of goodwill. Since it was just borrowing tools this time, there was no need for formality.
Seeing Shi Tian and Li Ziyu at his door, Hermit Sage didn’t hesitate. He handed over two shovels and decided he would join them today.
“What’s this? Are you hooked now? Wait a moment; I’ll change my clothes and join you.” He passed a shovel to Shi Tian and turned to get ready, clearly planning for an intensive digging session.
The area they had dug yesterday was specifically designated for tourists and had been excavated multiple times throughout the day. Only the deepest parts still held some Wang Chao and Jumping Fish.
After following the old man around for a while, they found a new stretch of beach where there were few people—just two or three individuals searching the ground with shovels.
“Village chief, are you here to dig for Wang Chao? Be careful; I might call your daughter to come pick you up and take you back to the city!” As soon as the old man approached the beach, the nearest middle-aged man threatened him.
Hearing this title made Shi Tian pause; it seemed Hermit Sage had quite the reputation—he was even considered an authority figure!
“Get lost! Just dig your mud! I brought these young folks here to have some fun; this side is my territory today!” Despite his modest title, the old man still commanded respect. As soon as he spoke, the middle-aged man immediately stepped back from the beach.
“Just relax! I’ll handle things with them!” The middle-aged man retreated with a sheepish smile, turning his attention to Shi Tian, sizing him up while ignoring Li Ziyu holding her Yun Tai. “Oh, you’ve even brought a rod. Are you planning to fish for Jumping Fish?”
As he offered a cigarette, before Shi Tian could respond, Hermit Sage pushed the middle-aged man aside. “Hurry up and dig your mud; this is none of your business!”
With that distraction cleared away, the three of them got down to work. Li Ziyu focused solely on filming while Shi Tian took charge of digging for Wang Chao and Jumping Fish.
In their last video featuring Sun Lang’s outing at sea, they had included some clips of Shi Tian digging Tenghu, which had received positive feedback from fans. This time around, they had plenty of material to work with since they were also there to dig for Wang Chao.
As soon as they started digging, despite his age and apparent lack of stamina, it wasn’t long before Hermit Sage made the first catch within five minutes.
This time, it has to be edited into a video for release. Losing to an old man would be too embarrassing. Let's hurry up and Xia Shou!
