Standing on the platform, watching the Mini Light Boat circle around twice before turning away, Ping Tou was getting anxious. There were plenty of fishing boats around, and some angling vessels too, but yachts were scarce.
A sixty to seventy-foot yacht with "mini" in its name was not something an average person would dare to claim. In Sanya, there was only one mini yacht, and that was the Mini Air Force. Without some background, trying to register that name would require a vessel much larger than the Mini Air Force; who would want to challenge the Air Force? Anyone who could afford a yacht wouldn’t make such a foolish move.
When the Mini Light Boat arrived, Pingtou guessed it belonged to Shi Tian. Shi Tian had mentioned ordering a boat when he dropped him off at the platform; only he could pull off something like this.
"Calling Mini Light Boat, this is... please respond!" He picked up the radio and stared through the window at the Mini Light Boat drifting farther away.
Hearing Pingtou's voice crackle through the radio, Li Ziyu turned to exchange a glance with Shi Tian.
"Tian Ge, can we turn off this radio?"
The VHF channel couldn’t be turned off casually; doing so would incur a fine! Rubbing his nose, Shi Tian felt a headache coming on.
Caught by Pingtou, Li Ziyu still had thoughts of escaping!
"Hold on tight; I’m going full throttle!" With that, he pushed down on the accelerator, and the Mini Light Boat shot forward.
Listening to Pingtou's repeated calls, Li Ziyu reached for the radio and pinched her nose as she spoke in a rough voice: "Mini Light Boat receiving... please respond."
After a self-satisfied reply filled with static, she set the radio down. "You can call all you want from the platform; we won’t be receiving any signals now!"
With a triumphant smile, she knew Pingtou wouldn’t be able to scold her over the public channel anyway. Whatever happened tomorrow would be dealt with tomorrow.
Watching the Mini Light Boat disappear like an arrow across the sea and hearing Li Ziyu’s playful voice over the radio made Pingtou smile wryly. All his previous care for her seemed wasted; this sister of his had grown wings and was swept away by Shi Tian—no longer his little shadow!
Once out of sight from the platform, Shi Tian found a fishing spot and dropped anchor. The stern's water platform lowered, and each of them grabbed an Iron Plate Rod; whether they would have dinner tonight depended on their luck with fish.
The boat had cooking equipment but no ingredients—only a few frozen Large Yellow Croakers that were hard as rocks. Even the freshwater tank was empty.
He had only planned to feed some Chinese White Dolphins but now realized he’d need Pingtou to resupply them tomorrow; otherwise, they’d have to return to Sanya by morning!
"Xiao Yu, let’s treat your brother to breakfast tomorrow morning! There’s nothing to eat on board," Shi Tian started plotting their way out.
"Sure! There are still a few bottles of drinks in the fridge; I’ll lock them in our room so my brother can bring his own food and drinks! But there’s no freshwater on board, so we can’t shower tonight!"
"No worries about showering; we have a Desalination Machine. I turned it on earlier; it should be enough for washing up."
The Desalination Machine wasn’t used much on yachts; it was more common on sailboats or larger ocean-going vessels where it was typically equipped.
The desalinated seawater is drinkable, but it shouldn't be consumed for long periods. Usually, it's used for washing the deck and showering, with about three thousand liters a day, which is sufficient for the Mini Light Boat.
How about we order some ingredients now and then go fishing together? We can ask my brother for the supplies on the platform, then send him back while we make our escape on the boat. This vessel is fast; he definitely won't be able to catch up! With a glimmer in her eyes, Li Ziyu exclaimed.
