Holding a cast net, he ran along the riverbank, looking for a secluded spot to crouch down. Checking the time, it was almost time for the train. Old Zhou quickly dialed Shi Tian's number.
After explaining the situation, Shi Tian glanced at Kang Ziyu beside him. He certainly didn't have the courage to act as a relationship guru in front of Kang Ziyu.
"Uncle Zhou, you know that cooking requires high standards for ingredients," he said. "By the way, I haven't taught Aunt Huang how to select ingredients yet! Do you have time at noon? If so, take Aunt Huang to the market and show her how to pick out fresh produce. Otherwise, I’m worried that in a couple of days, she’ll forget everything I taught her yesterday!"
"There’s a pretty good hotpot restaurant near the market. I went there with Xiao Yu once; you guys should try it out at noon!"
Talking in front of Kang Ziyu felt a bit excessive. Whether this could be put into practice depended on Old Zhou's comprehension.
After hanging up with Old Zhou, he touched Kang Ziyu's forehead. The fever had subsided somewhat, but there was still some coughing.
"Xiao Yu, how about we stay in Changsha for a few days? We can go to Hangzhou once you’re better." He picked up a thermos and poured a cup of hot water for Kang Ziyu.
"No way! We’ll drop off the stuff in Changsha and leave right after. If Aunt finds out I have a cold, she’ll definitely insist on giving me an injection!"
With her injection skills, it was no wonder that when his uncle was dating her, his arm was always swollen! When Shi Tian brought this up, Kang Ziyu nearly wanted to skip Changsha altogether and fly straight to Hangzhou.
It seemed that Kang Ziyu still had quite a psychological shadow from his aunt; he must have suffered under her hands quite a bit as a child.
"So what do we do? Just drop off the ingredients and then leave?" Watching Kang Ziyu drink the hot water, Shi Tian also didn’t want to linger in Changsha.
"Father-in-law is fine, but Kong Yunlong is no pushover. I sent Wo Liao to Kong Yunfei without including Kong Yunlong; there’s no way Kong Yunfei wouldn’t flaunt it in front of him."
"If Kong Yunlong comes looking for trouble, my Wo Liao in the Fishing Box will be at risk. Dian Xiao didn’t bring any; I can’t possibly ask Sun Lang to send more from Sanya just for some Wo Liao! That would waste too much time."
"Let’s leave some chicken and duck behind and head to Hangzhou for hotpot. We’ll just drop off some food for them. After that, we’ll go straight to my uncle's house; I have the code for their front door. We can drop off the stuff and head directly to the airport. Once we’re in Hangzhou, we can call them."
"At this hour, there’s definitely no one at Kong Yunlong's place. We can drop off the items and leave; this plan is foolproof."
At the station, carrying their things, they hailed a taxi and headed to Kong Yunlong's building. Kang Ziyu took the items upstairs.
After entering the code and opening the door, Tian Run stood quietly behind it, staring at Kang Ziyu with all his bags.
"Aunt, aren’t you working today?" After three seconds of stunned silence, Kang Ziyu instinctively shielded his belongings in front of him.
"I’m off today! You come to Changsha without letting me know? I could’ve picked you up!" She stepped aside and let Kang Ziyu into the house.
"We're just passing through; we need to catch a flight!"
"I brought two chickens and ducks from a friend’s farm just for you to taste. Tian Ge is waiting downstairs; I have to go!"
Shoving the items into Tian Run's arms, Kang Ziyu quickly shut the door behind him and ran away.
It was terrifying. If I had known Tian Run was at home, I would have gone straight to the doorman!
I took the elevator down, and by the time Tian Run chased after me, Kang Ziyu had already vanished without a trace. All I could do was call and give him a piece of my mind.
