After two hours of back and forth, the sky was already bright. With a shake of the rod tip and a push of the Electric Reel, Shi Ye had hooked a fish, and it was a big one!
"Xiao Tian, make breakfast! We'll have some fun after we eat." The first thing to do after catching a fish was to strip Shi Tian of his competition eligibility. As his own nephew, Shi Ye showed no mercy.
Watching Shi Tian sulk as he ducked into the cabin, Air Force and Lu Ya quickly stowed away his two rods. They had claimed the flag of Xisha!
Putting on cut-resistant gloves, they managed to get the fish aboard in less than twenty minutes—a hefty eighty-pound Yellowfin Tuna. That was enough to plant their flag!
"Sun Lang, reel it in; we're setting sail for Nansha!" As Shi Ye's flag was raised, he reminded Sun Lang, who promptly reeled in his rod while Air Force started the boat.
As the boat moved, Shi Tian was stunned. He hurriedly emerged from the kitchen and ran to the helm, only to see that Air Force had already weighed anchor.
"Jun Ge, why are we weighing anchor?"
"There are no big fish here; we're changing fishing spots." A casual remark as he pushed the throttle forward. The next fishing spot was quite far away; they would probably need to travel for a day or two!
Changing fishing spots? That made sense. The tide had already receded, so it was normal for the bite to be poor here. Moving to a location with some current and fishing for another two or three hours shouldn't be a problem.
However, after breakfast, Shi Tian felt something was off. "Isn't this fishing spot a bit too far? We've already passed Treasure Island; are we heading for Hua Guang Reef?"
Standing on top of the boat and watching Hua Guang Reef gradually recede into the distance, Shi Tian suddenly felt like he had boarded a pirate ship!
"Ye Ge, are we really going all the way to Xisha just to catch a few small fish before retreating? That seems wasteful!"
"Who said that? We caught a big fish! I just hooked an eighty-pound Tuna!" After boasting a bit, Shi Ye turned with Lu Ya and headed downstairs to their rooms. It was going to be a long journey; they needed to get back to work!
The minimum wage in Myanmar is twelve dollars a day. With such low labor costs, Shi Ye's investment plans were set to expand further.
There were many Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian companies here as neighbors; it felt wrong not to invest a little more. After all, they were all targeting the international market. Many labor-intensive light industries could thrive here.
Once products were produced, they could be labeled with trademarks for Head Owl Market and Europe for sales there; those going to Europe could bear North American trademarks. They also had plenty of Southeast Asian trademarks on hand—even Brother San's—allowing them to profit while waving patriotic flags!
After drifting at sea for two days, as evening fell and the boat stopped, Air Force One gave the order. A few people rushed from their rooms with their gear towards the stern, all eager to catch the first fish in Nansha!
Nansha was much larger than Xisha, stretching over a thousand kilometers.
Staring at the Fish Finder, they noted that the water was thirty meters deep with layers of fish below. With such density, how could they not catch anything? Just drop the line and hook one!
With a weight attached to the line, they cast it into the water, letting it sink while checking for bites! Before it even reached the bottom, there was a tremor at the rod tip—time to strike! In front of absolute resources, everything else seemed trivial!
Having hooked a fish, Shi Tian quickly began to reel it in, determined to be the first to plant a flag on the Nansha Islands! However, the fish on his rod was quite strong, thrashing about and making him increasingly frustrated as he tried to pull it in. He couldn't let anyone else beat him to it; that would be a huge loss!
Watching Shi Tian struggle with his catch, Air Force calmly adjusted his own rod. He already had a bite on his line, and he just needed one more strong tug to spear the fish. The fish on Shi Tian's line was putting up a fight, and with over two meters of line still to reel in, Air Force knew he had a chance!
With a sudden jerk, Shi Tian felt the fish tugging again. He hurriedly reeled in the line, determined to plant his flag before Air Force could catch up! The two were racing for the first flag on Nansha Islands, while Lu Ya and Shi Ye remained unhurried, methodically letting out their lines in search of fish.
As the rod twitched, Shi Ye lifted his pole to see what he had caught!
