A few quick steps brought me back to my Fishing Spot. I grabbed the Rod and yanked it up sharply, relieved that the fish hadn’t gotten away; otherwise, I would have been in tears!
With the fish hooked, I stepped two paces into the water, angling the Rod and exerting force to lift it up. I still hadn’t secured the Shou Sheng yet!
Over at Shi Tian’s spot, as soon as he hooked a fish, the splashing sound drew two uncles rushing over to help.
“First, let’s secure the Shou Sheng!” Wading through the water to Shi Tian’s side, I attached the Shou Sheng to his Rod. With this safety measure in place, we had a better chance of landing the fish!
This fish was quite large; it might take ten or more minutes to tire it out. You should also attach a Shou Sheng to your Rod—be careful not to let the fish drag your Rod into the water. I have another Shou Sheng in my Fishing Box; you can borrow it!
After turning to tell the uncle, Shi Tian tried to step back onto the shore, but the fish on his Rod started thrashing again.
Shi Tian didn’t dare use brute force on this fish. He missed his chance to stab it properly and was worried about where it might be hooked; if it came loose, he’d be kicking himself!
Fortunately, the weather had warmed up considerably, but standing in the water was still uncomfortable. Shi Tian thought about retreating to shore, but the big fish kept pulling him back!
“Sir, are you from Tianya District or Jiyang District?” After soaking for over ten minutes, Shi Tian finally made it back to dry land.
“I’m from Tianya District.” Glancing at his uncooperative Float, he felt a bit disheartened. Should he try for Qing Cao Lian Yu instead?
“Impressive! A fisherman from Tianya District coming all the way to Ji Yang to fish—you’re a Model Fisherman!” I complimented him meaningfully as the surface of the water began to churn.
“Kid, did you use a pirated map? Fu Wan Reservoir is actually part of Tianya District.” After throwing a jab at Shi Tianyi, the uncle felt much better.
Is there such a benefit in jabbing at people? Looks like I should do it more often!
“Really? It won’t be long before it’s not!” The fish had lost its strength to struggle; now Shi Tian just needed to wait for it to flip over so he could scoop it up with the Yu Hu!
Rolling his eyes at Shi Tianyi, the uncle had already lost interest in him.
As soon as the fish reached the shore, the uncle rushed over to help net it.
“Hurry up!” I quickly pulled out my phone and planted my flag.
The comments section is open for messages. Once I planted my flag and glanced at the time, all three of us began packing up our gear in preparation for our next stop!
“Sir, I just tested this Rod—it’s quite sturdy. I managed to bring in a seventeen-pound Big Grass Carp without dropping it!”
“If you’re looking to switch Rods, make sure you choose one from Xing Brand; their Rods are both reliable and durable.”
I handed over a few sets of Xiao Gou to the uncle and gathered my gear. With him still staring blankly at us, we three slipped into the bushes and vanished into our own worlds!
By the time they returned to Anyou Town, it was already past seven in the evening. The nightlife in Anyou Town was even more vibrant than during the day; the outdoor stalls across the street had started up again, and there was an additional one open for business. People were enjoying barbecues and singing, money flowing into their pockets!
Shi Tian and his three companions had only managed to plant two flags that afternoon, which was still a bit lacking compared to Shui Bi Zhang and Da Gui Wang. The only one who might surpass them was Dazai, who had gone to the middle and lower reaches of the Sanya River; catching a carp weighing over two pounds there would be enough to plant a flag.
As soon as they got out of the car, Sun Lang's Nissan followed closely behind, and several elderly gentlemen began to descend from the vehicle one after another.
"Old gentlemen, where have you been? Riding back in Sun Lang's car, I bet you didn't do anything productive," Shi Tian remarked.
"Weren't we planting flags? We also planted one!" Old Wen chimed in. "The tuna has already been delivered to the Seafood Restaurant; you just need to pick it up. We've been running around for days and are tired; we're heading back to rest!"
Did these old men really know what tired meant? If they were dragged out now, they would surely be full of energy, none of them complaining about fatigue!
"Sister Lang, why don't you take them to the Seafood Restaurant first? I'll drop off the old gentlemen! Once everyone's gathered, we can start eating without waiting for me!" After giving a quick instruction to Sun Lang, Shi Tian made way for the elderly men and decided to take them back first.
It seemed impossible to just drop them off at the Air Force villa; he still needed to make dinner for them!
Once dinner was served, he accompanied the elderly gentlemen for a couple of drinks while they boasted about their heroic exploits at sea.
"Xiao Tian, do you have any suitable candidates for Xiang Zhu in Tianya District?" Old Wen asked after downing a glass.
Xiang Zhu's influence on Diao Jiao's development strategy was minimal; it mainly involved running errands. The real decision-makers for Diao Jiao's development were still these old men.
Candidates? Anyone with time on their hands, a love for fishing, some organizational skills, and a willingness to get involved would do!
Shui Bi Zhang could be one option, though he might not be particularly interested in this Xiang Zhu role.
Wang Gou was also a possibility; he had leisure time, money, loved fishing, and was somewhat of an official enthusiast. He even formed a Sea Fishing Gang with a few others. However, he might be more suited as the Yaizhou Incense Master.
Calmly could work too; he was part of the Sea Fishing Gang. While he didn't have as much free time as Wang Gou or Shui Bi Zhang, his organizational skills were impressive. The activities for Occupy Tianya were proposed by him; I merely added in the flag-planting system.
