Holding the fishing rod on the yacht, Shi Tian ran to the stern with Head Brother, casting lines while occasionally exchanging a few words to see what kind of person Shi Tian was in Head Brother's eyes.
Head Brother's opinions couldn't be taken at face value; they were more for reference. Fortunately, his views were relatively objective and had some merit!
While chatting in the cabin, Li Yunfei dominated the conversation. However, once they reached the stern, he began discussing Shi Tian with Head Brother, who was busy talking about fishing. As the conversation progressed, Li Yunfei got sidetracked.
When it came to fishing, Head Brother was a professional! After some careful guidance, the yacht set sail under his direction, and the two of them completely forgot about everything else!
The equipment on the yacht was always somewhat lacking, so Head Brother had to rely on his experience to navigate based on coordinates, trying out a couple of casts to see if there were any fish around.
A Mahi Mahi of moderate size had Li Yunfei feeling ecstatic.
As evening approached, Mini Air Force was keeping track of time to return. Yesterday, he had agreed with Head Brother to fish for dinner together. But when he picked up the radio to call out, Head Brother was nowhere to be found! Had he been stood up?
With Head Brother absent, they decided to have fun on their own! "Dog Brother, it's your time to shine; take us out for some evening fishing!" Shi Tian said as he put down the radio and turned to Wang Gou.
Wang Gou had somewhat mastered the skill of finding fish; while he couldn't do it entirely on his own yet, Oka’s guidance proved effective.
In the afternoon, with Oka's help, Wang Gou located a school of Flying Fish, and they all had a great time fishing! Even the group next door from Man Cang Hao managed to catch some fish as well.
Shi Tian casually opened the internet and then slipped into his room to make some porridge with Li Ziyu while he had the chance!
Most boats here were small; those who came to fish for Tuna were mostly locals and tourists. They came here for a taste of deep-sea fishing and would spend a few thousand dollars before heading back.
If they wanted to fish for big fish, they needed to go over to Xisha. There were places near Deep Sea No. 1 where the water could reach two thousand meters deep; that’s where the big fish would be.
However, getting there was quite far; those fishing boats had to travel fifteen hours at sea to arrive.
Once he finished making porridge and stepped out of his room, he found that everyone had already gone up on deck to fish.
Turning off his internet connection and checking the Fish Finder, he saw that this Fishing Spot looked promising—Oka must have done well.
Carrying his rod onto the deck, he found Oka and Shi Chui on the port side while Wang Gou and Sun Lang were on the starboard side—two experienced anglers paired with two novices made for a reasonable setup.
Standing next to Shi Chui, he set up his Fishing Rod Holder and connected it to the Electric Reel’s Power Supply. He glanced at Shi Chui and Oka's Electric Reel displays; it showed around ten meters.
"Ou Ge," Shi Tian casually asked as he lowered his Hook, "I heard that fishing has been good over at Xisha lately? Have you been out there?"
After dropping his line, Shi Tian dashed back into the cabin.
It had been a while since he'd played Shou Si; now seemed like a great time to show off in front of Shi Chui while enjoying a good day of fishing.
After baiting his hook and putting on gloves, he tossed it into the sea while letting out line and teasing the fish.
Fishing had been good lately in that area; however, big fish were scarce—most were under fifty pounds. He offered Shi Chui a cigarette while observing Shi Tian busy with both hands; it seemed like Shi Tian didn’t have time for smoking today.
"Where are all the big fish? Fifty pounds is already pretty good!" Shi Tian chuckled, shaking his head slightly.
Those who have never been to sea often think that the ocean is full of big fish, but only when you venture out do you realize that even in the Xisha region, a hundred and fifty pounds is a significant hurdle.
For those professional fishing boats, even with a seasoned captain who has over ten years of experience, it’s common to go two or three months without catching a single fish over a hundred and fifty pounds. Most of the time, they’re reeling in smaller ones, around thirty to fifty pounds.
The last time Shi Tian caught a tuna just over a hundred pounds, it was already the largest fish caught on the Air Force.
Why did they have to activate Wei Diao for that one fish? Because it was a rare opportunity; who knows when they would encounter such a chance again?
"How about we go play in North America sometime? They have big fish there—big Bluefin Tuna. Anything under three hundred pounds isn’t even allowed on board!" Oka suggested with a sly smile.
Hearing Oka invite him to North America, Shi Tian felt a bit tempted. But for now, he decided against it; he still had to figure out the fishing back home.
When Oka mentioned North America, it was clear he meant Prince Edward Island. The fish there are indeed quite large, with several thousand-pound Bluefin Tuna caught every year. However, going to North America wasn’t feasible at the moment; he simply didn’t have the time for it now.
