It was a hard-won catch, a big fish on the line! What do you mean by not coming to support me? Just a moment ago, he really wanted to grab the rod from Shi Tian, but now that he had hooked a big fish himself, Shi Chui no longer cared about the small fish on Shi Tian's rod. That fish was too weak, lacking any thrill!
Just listen to the sound of the line being pulled! It echoed throughout the entire yacht! How could you just ignore it? That’s a bit much!
“Lao Shi, you’ve let out over two meters of line! You won’t be able to reel it in for at least half an hour! By the time I finish cooking, that fish might still not be up!” Glancing at the numbers on Shi Chui’s electric reel, Shi Tian couldn’t help but tease.
“What do you care how many meters? Just help me net the fish when it comes up! Just stand there and watch!” After retorting at Shi Tianyi, Shi Chui continued to enjoy the pull on his rod. Nothing beats ocean fishing! The strength of this fish must be at least eighty pounds!
“Lao Shi, your technique isn’t right! Raising the rod that high is dangerous! Here, let me show you how it’s done!” Since he wasn’t allowed to leave, he decided to stay put.
Leaning over to Shi Chui, he snatched the rod from his hands and planted it firmly against his stomach. Now the rod was in Shi Tian's hands!
“Come on, Lao Shi, let me give you some pointers! First off, when lifting the rod, never go beyond ninety degrees; sixty degrees is more than enough!” While explaining to Shi Chui, Shi Tianyi began reeling in. He could see that Shi Chui was about to interrupt him several times.
“This is my rod! I hooked the fish! If you keep explaining, we’ll lose it!”
“I got it; you go cook! I can handle this myself!” Shi Chui realized that calling out to Shi Tian might have been a mistake; he hadn’t taken his rod but now it seemed like Shi Tian was trying to take over his!
Shi Tian didn’t care about that; once he had the rod in hand, there was no way he would let it go.
“Lao Shi, pay attention; this is all important stuff. You need to remember it! Don’t get distracted! Otherwise, even if you hook a big fish, it could slip away!”
After reminding Shi Chui again, Shi Tian started his lengthy lecture. The tension on the line tightened more and more as he cranked up the electric reel. With just this one fish, even if it took a power boost, it wouldn’t break his electric reel!
“I got it; I remember! Just give me the rod; I’ll handle it myself! You go do your thing!” Tired of Shi Tian’s incessant chatter, Shi Chui was ready to take control!
“Don’t move; this fish is trying to dive under the boat! If it gets under there, you have to immediately dip the rod into the water; otherwise, the line will snap in an instant!” With a warning shout, Shi Tian shifted the rod aside just in time to avoid Shi Chui's grasp.
Watching these two go back and forth, Head Brother was speechless. Was it just one fish? Was all this really necessary? Shi Tian had caught two-pound tuna before; why cling so tightly to this one that hadn’t even grown up yet?
After several rounds of back-and-forth, they had nearly reeled in the line. Just as Shi Chui was about to explode with frustration, Shi Tian quickly spoke up: “Lao Shi, remember what I said earlier? Here, take the rod and let me demonstrate again. Keep those points in mind and we’ll have this fish secured!”
Shi Chui felt utterly frustrated now! He wished he could slap himself for saying anything at all!
Taking over the rod, at least Shi Tian hadn’t made him wait until after dragging up the fish before handing it over—he had some conscience after all! Unfortunately, the numbers on the electric reel were already dropping into single digits!
“Head Brother, hurry up and help me get this fish onboard! I want to record a video for Lao Shi; this is his first big catch!” Handing a hook over to Head Brother while stepping back a few paces, Shi Tian raised his phone and started recording.
After three minutes of intense struggle from Shi Chui, Head Brother swung his hook and successfully dragged a sixty or seventy-pound yellowfin tuna onto the boat.
They took pictures together. Once he put away his phone, Shi Tian patted Head Brother on the shoulder with a slight smile and said: “The task of bleeding and processing this fish falls to you. I’ll go prepare some dishes so we can enjoy a couple of drinks later!”
“Want to drink? Then you better get your work done first.” As captain of Mini Air Force now aboard the ship, without his say-so, Head Brother wouldn’t be able to pull out any drinks!
Shi Tian entered the cabin, and Head Brother looked at him speechlessly. Was it really this hard just to earn a living? And now he had to do manual labor too!
"Brother Shi, this is your first Tuna. Come on, let me teach you how to bleed it and remove the blood acids!" With a flick of the hook, Head Brother turned to glance at Shi Chui. "This job should be outsourced!"
"No way! You do it; I get queasy at the sight of blood! You keep busy; I’ll just step out for a moment!" With that, Shi Chui quickly dove into the cabin.
Before setting out to sea, he had done some research and knew what bleeding and removing blood acids entailed. He had no intention of getting involved; if he could avoid it, he would!
After tidying up the fish, Shi Chui emerged from the cabin.
Head Brother was handling the heavy work, but he couldn't leave all the small tasks to him; that would be unreasonable! Seeing Head Brother busy on the deck, Shi Chui hurried over and offered him a cigarette. Taking the hose from Head Brother's hands, he said, "Brother, take a break and have a smoke. I'll handle this! I found two bottles of Moutai in Xiao Tian's room earlier. I'll treat you to Moutai for lunch today!"
Upon hearing there were two bottles of Moutai, Head Brother instantly felt energized!
"Brother Shi, we can't drink that much on the boat; it's too dangerous. Let's just have one bottle today and save the other for tomorrow!"
"Alright, you have experience; we'll do it your way!"
