Captain Man Cang Hao was not particularly skilled at fishing, but he had no issues with operating the boat and didn’t mind the fuel costs. He was diligent, taking the initiative to bleed and transport fish without needing to be asked.
Following Shui Bi Zhang's instructions, he trailed behind the Mini Air Force, his mind filled with questions. "Shui Zong, aren't we trolling? This speed is a bit too high for that!" To keep up with the Mini Air Force, Man Cang was practically pushing the throttle into the fuel tank. How could a second-hand fishing boat keep pace with a yacht? It was impossible!
The fuel consumption at full speed was substantial, and even Man Cang felt a twinge of pain at the thought of the costs. For now, he decided not to rush into fishing. Holding onto the rod that Shi Tian had lent him, he stood in the cabin for two hours, anxiously watching the Mini Air Force ahead, fearing that he might lose them.
He had brought several people out for fishing, boasting about how he had arranged this trip specifically to ensure they had a great time catching tuna. If they lost sight of the Mini Air Force, finding them again in the vast ocean would be difficult. He couldn’t just shout for Shi Tian to wait for them!
Directing Sun Lang to steer the boat, he occasionally glanced back at Man Cang Hao to ensure they didn’t fall behind. Shi Tian was genuinely worried about it all.
“Calling Drilling Platform, this is Mini Air Force.” Once within radio range, Shi Tian called out to Pingtou Ge. Most likely, Pingtou Ge would be on duty at this hour! He wanted to inform him that he was coming over to deliver a rod right away; if Pingtou Ge was busy, he could always come back later in the evening.
“Xiao Tian, bring the boat over! I’ll board!” As soon as he finished his call, Pingtou Ge’s voice came through on the other end. Was it possible that he knew Shi Tian was coming to deliver a rod and was waiting by the radio?
Well then, radios weren’t meant for casual chatting; they would talk once Pingtou Ge boarded.
Hearing Shi Tian’s call made Man Cang suddenly feel a spark of interest. Was this an opportunity for a side business? Maybe he should look into some collaboration too? He had heard of pilots before; now there were even fishing guides?
Slowing down to approach, Pingtou Ge was already waiting there. Boarding the Mini Air Force, he reported his coordinates to Oka while dragging Shi Tian along to get his rod.
“Aren’t you on duty today?” Shi Tian casually asked as Pingtou Ge slipped into his room.
Although Pingtou Ge loved fishing, his work ethic was solid. Aside from that one trip to Xisha, he hadn’t been seen leaving his post during work hours.
“I knew you were coming today, so I swapped shifts with someone else. I just took a spin out at sea and found a great fishing spot. Where’s your rod? Hurry up and assemble it; I’ll take you fishing for big fish!” After responding to Shi Tian, Pingtou Ge searched around Shi Tian’s room but couldn’t find the rod.
“This is your rod; it’s not set up yet. Do you want me to help you get it ready?” He pulled out the rod he had prepared for Pingtou Ge and exchanged it for his long-lost Boat Rod and Iso Rod.
“I’ll manage it myself; you just take it easy!” With that, Shi Tian became less significant in his eyes.
“This box of stuff is from Xiao Yu; remember to take it back with you.” Seeing Pingtou Ge carrying the rod outside, Shi Tian quickly reminded him.
"Let's leave it for now, we'll talk after we finish fishing!" With that, Pingtou Ge dashed up to the deck.
As soon as the boat steadied, Pingtou Ge was the first to cast his line. Seeing him throw his rod, Shi Chui was not about to fall behind; he had been ready for this moment for a long time. Right next to Pingtou Ge, they both cast their lines in quick succession, as if believing that casting earlier would lead to catching fish sooner!
"Hey, your rod is new too! Is this your first time deep-sea fishing?" Pingtou Ge turned to Shi Chui with curiosity.
Shi Chui's rod was also brand new, but his baiting technique was a bit clumsy, and he lacked rhythm when letting out line. It was clear he hadn't played with an electric reel much before. Previously, he had fished for sea bass in shallow waters, but this was his first time trying deep-sea fishing. After a moment, he noticed Pingtou Ge's electric reel and wondered why it stopped at forty meters. Don't you let it go all the way down when fishing for tuna?
Pingtou Ge could stop letting out line, and Shi Chui quickly followed suit, pushing the button to reel in forty meters first. This guy must know what he's doing; he definitely wasn't a novice. Following his lead could only be a good thing!
Before Shi Chui could reel in his line, Shi Tian and the others emerged from the cabin, each carrying a rod and rushing to the side of the boat to set up fishing rod holders.
"Pingtou Ge, this is my dad; it's his first time deep-sea fishing, so you need to help him out!" Earlier, when Pingtou Ge was eager for a rod, Shi Tian hadn't had the chance to introduce them. It seemed like Pingtou Ge wasn’t planning on leaving anytime soon, so it was best to make the introduction.
After introducing Shi Chui, Shi Tian hesitated to introduce Pingtou Ge. If he told Shi Chui that Pingtou Ge was Li Ziyu's brother, things would get lively.
"Brother Shi! I’m good friends with Ye Ge; he mentioned you before!" Shi Tianyi introduced enthusiastically as Pingtou Ge raised an eyebrow and immediately ran over to Shi Chui's side.
"Aren't you supposed to hold grudges? You made me call you 'uncle' for days! Now I’m calling your dad my brother; if anything comes up, you'll have to call me 'brother' in front of him!"
