It was shocking to discover that such an ugly fish was adorned with Guo Er's protective talisman. If he were to carry this massive Guo Er through the Water Market, it wouldn’t take five minutes before someone would invite him for tea! After all, the free tea house was just at the northwest corner, visible from the balcony of the villa!
“Come on, let me hold it for a photo. Once we’re done, put it down quickly. This is Guo Er; there are so many people watching, we can't be careless!” Shi Tianyi reminded Air Force, who quickly pulled out his phone. With a fish this size, there was no need for a zoom.
“Hold this thing for a photo? No way,” Shi Tian shook his head after feeling the fish. It was covered in slime, and its mouth full of sharp teeth made it clear that it wasn’t friendly. He had no interest in changing clothes just for a picture!
“Forget it! Let’s just take a quick photo like this! Afterward, I’ll grab the hook remover!” The hook remover wasn’t just a waste of time; at least for a fish with such sharp teeth, it had its uses!
While Shi Tian didn’t want to take pictures, Air Force was eager to snap some shots. A fish this big could not be paraded around town, but a photo would be perfect to show off later!
With the hook removed, Air Force cradled the fish and took several photos. He directed Shi Tian to start recording video and carefully placed the sixty to seventy-pound fish back into the river, ready to showcase his kindness later!
Once the fish was released, Shi Tian rummaged through Air Force’s Fishing Box for a complete Line Setup and settled down on the rock they had previously moved. There were big fish here; although they couldn’t take any home for dinner, enjoying a Xia Shou moment was still delightful.
Seeing Shi Tian continue casting his line, several old men rolled their eyes and squeezed between Shi Tian and Air Force with their rods. Above Air Force’s Fishing Spot were Big Carps, while below Shi Tian’s Fishing Spot had large Mian Gua. This Fishing Spot was incredible; they couldn’t believe it wouldn’t yield any fish!
As the old men crowded around, Air Force remained friendly, welcoming them verbally and sharing some Wo Liao. It was shaping up to be a pleasant day!
Early in the morning, Kong Yunfei made a solo trip to the bank before circling back to the group and then heading to the airport with Hu Shuyi. Fortunately, there was a flight from Beijing to Xishuangbanna, saving them quite a bit of hassle.
Once they landed, they headed straight for Xi Shuang Jing. They didn’t know where Shi Tian was but were aware of Lu Ya’s base in Xishuangbanna. Since Shi Tian was with Lu Ya and Air Force, finding Lu Ya would lead them to Shi Tian!
The hotel I booked was right next to their villa. Upon arrival, I planned to observe secretly and then figure out how to draw Liu Ya and Xiao Jun away tomorrow so I could have some one-on-one time with Shi Tian!
Finding Shi Tian wouldn’t be difficult; however, having a private conversation with him would be challenging. Lu Ya and Air Force both knew them well; if he showed up and they called out “Uncle,” then their trip would have been in vain!
Let’s see how things go first. Drawing Liu Ya and Xiao Jun away shouldn’t be hard; it’s just what happens after that—how do I approach Shi Tian? Have you thought this through? Turning to Hu Shuyi, who was staring at him intently, Kong Yunfei asked.
Approaching Shi Tian couldn’t just be a quick hello and goodbye; at least they needed to chat for a bit! The more they talked, the more insights they’d gain about him.
Let’s play it by ear; we’ll assess the situation first! Shaking his head slightly, Kong Yunfei felt somewhat helpless.
His time was already quite limited, and the fact that he could bring his wife to Xishuangbanna for four hours was all because of Kang Ziyu; otherwise, not just anyone would have that kind of privilege.
"Here, take this bracelet. I specially bought it this morning. Remember to wear it tomorrow," Hu Shuyi said with a proud smile as she handed a fitness bracelet to Kong Yunfei. "It has video recording capabilities, so we can capture your interactions and analyze them later!"
While waiting at a red light, Hu Shuyi pulled out the bracelet from her bag and handed it over to Kong Yunfei. She had spent quite a bit of money that morning just to come to Xishuangbanna to investigate Shi Tian. If she weren’t so inexperienced with drones, she probably would have brought back an entire DJI setup for a comprehensive aerial, land, and sea operation.
The plane landed at six o'clock, and by the time they reached the hotel, it was nearly seven.
The so-called hotel was essentially a collection of villas that had been purchased but not occupied, then managed and turned into boutique hotels specifically for families on vacation.
As they drove past Lu Ya's villa, they slowed down to take a closer look. There were two cars parked out front, both with Qiong license plates—there was no mistake; they had found the right place.
"Hurry up, Liu Ya is on the second floor!" Hu Shuyi reminded Kong Yunfei. She raised the sun visor to ensure Lu Ya wouldn’t notice them just yet.
After circling around and parking in the lot, the two quickly grabbed their things and slipped toward the hotel.
"Old He, there’s only Liu Ya upstairs. I didn’t see Xiao Jun or Shi Tian; they must have gone out. It’s already past seven; they should be back soon. Keep an eye by the window and remember to close the curtains," Hu Shuyi instructed as they entered.
They headed straight for the second floor. Hu Shuyi directed Kong Yunfei while she immediately began unpacking a large bag of equipment.
Since they were there to observe Shi Tian, they needed to do it thoroughly.
She plugged in her router and took out several home cameras that had been pre-set up for easy use—just plug them in and they were ready to go.
Setting up her power strip, she attached the cameras to the windows. Just as she finished adjusting one of them, Kong Yunfei exclaimed, "Shi Tian is back! She came back alone with some fishing gear; she must have gone fishing!"
