Going out to sea for fishing can be quite a hassle, especially with two seasoned fishermen, Wang Ergou and Lobster, always around. Among the Turtle Trio, only Da Gui Wang had the time, so he took the spot.
There were five of us in total. Sun Lang was busy, and Tuesday was out at sea; we wouldn’t know if he’d be back by Friday or the weekend. Su Xueyi couldn’t keep taking leave to watch the store.
After confirming everyone’s availability and resupplying Mini Air Force, we docked the boat at Scallion Ginger Fishy’s Small Pier. When we returned to the store entrance, Old Lin was already there.
To ensure Sun Lang could keep Old Lin company, Shi Tian had even specially approved a pack of Sea Bass Bait for him. Once on the Diving Boat, it wasn’t long before Old Lin was reeling in seven-pound Sea Bass, exclaiming how enjoyable it was.
Back at the store, I helped Old Lin make a Boat Rod and took the opportunity to create an Electric Reel for myself, preparing two sets of line as well. After finishing everything, I took my Iso Rod to fish with Old Lin for a while; I couldn’t neglect him.
“Wow! Brother Lin is impressive! You’ve caught so many!” Yu Hu exclaimed, pointing at a pile of Sea Bass. Shi Tian praised him as well. Xia Rou cast her line without trying to overshadow Old Lin, hoping to catch a Shi Ban for dinner later.
In no time, we had over ten fish—at least a hundred pounds! The fishing was excellent by the seaside—all big catches! Old Lin humbly remarked, quickly lighting up a cigarette for Shi Tian. He was already calculating whether he should rent a place nearby for a longer stay!
Over a hundred pounds? It was more than that; there were three or four fish over ten pounds alone! Such excessive modesty could easily be seen as pride! Just as he finished speaking, Shi Tian pulled up a Parrotfish.
These fish were quite common in Sanya—colorful and varied. They looked exotic but weren’t rare; dead ones sold for ten dollars a pound while live ones could be kept as pets. You could set up a large aquarium with ten or so of them; they were quite pleasing to the eye but required water temperatures above twenty degrees.
“This fish is beautiful! You caught one right after casting your line—impressive!” Brother Lin replied, though he secretly felt proud that his catch was bigger—a seven-pounder that truly felt rewarding!
“A Xiao Yu? Ten of those wouldn’t match your one fish!” I casually responded to Old Lin. Shi Tian switched to Xia Rou and cast again; this fish surely wouldn’t meet cooking standards—he needed something bigger!
Using Xia Rou now, Shi Tian saw Sun Lang switch his hook’s Plastic Particles for Live Shrimp. What was the point of fishing for Sea Bass? It was much more thrilling to catch valuable Shi Ban at prime Fishing Spots!
“Boss, are you guys going out to sea today?” Sun Lang asked with a grin as he approached Shi Tian with his Rod.
It was clear that Sun Lang had gotten wind of their plans from Old Lin.
“Old Lin and Nan You are going fishing for two days; Dog Brother Lobster and Da Gui Wang are going too! Do you want in? But then who will watch the store?” Shi Tian glanced at Sun Lang with a slight smile.
Sun Lang had snatched his Wheel; he clearly wanted to go out to sea for some fun. However, if Sun Lang went out, Su Xueyi would have to watch the store—did she have time?
Xiaoxue had finished her professional courses and was currently working on her Graduation Project, which she could actually do at the store! Understanding Shi Tian’s concerns, Sun Lang quickly promised.
Hearing this made Shi Tian pause. She had completed her courses and was now busy with her Graduation Project?
“That’s not my concern; you report to her supervisor—not me! If you can convince her to take leave, great! If not, just stay here and mind the store!”
This was between them as a couple; he didn’t want to meddle.
“Come on, boss! Taking leave requires skill; help me brainstorm some ideas!” Sun Lang said earnestly while handing over a cigarette.
Sun Lang really admired Shi Tian’s strategic mind. Last time in Guangzhou, he had followed Shi Tian's secret techniques and ended up taking care of Su Xueyi all night long after just two doses of Ba Dou.
Unfortunately, the next day, Su Xueyi was going to take him to the hospital, which scared him into an immediate recovery, preventing him from completing the goal that Shi Tian had set for him.
"Have you two confirmed your relationship?" Shi Tian asked as he took the cigarette handed to him by Sun Lang, turning back to continue staring into the distance at Float.
"Probably confirmed!" Sun Lang replied uncertainly upon hearing this.
"Have you given her any gifts?"
When Shi Tian mentioned gifts, Sun Lang was momentarily taken aback. Had he ever given Su Xueyi a gift? It seemed he hadn't really done so in a proper way!
"Does milk tea count?" After thinking for a long time, Float chimed in, oblivious to Sun Lang's expression darkening, and asked back with focus.
"Warm and thoughtful!" Shi Tian shot Sun Lang a glance, feeling somewhat speechless. "Milk tea? Why don't you mention breakfast? When has it not been Su Xueyi bringing you breakfast?"
"It's not warm; it's cold!"
Sun Lang's comment completely threw Shi Tian off guard. "Can't you tell when someone is joking?"
Looking up at the sky, Shi Tian noted that there was still over an hour until he would be eating with Scallion Ginger Fishy and Head Brother. He rubbed his temples and said, "Buy her a lipstick from City! Give it to her later; if she accepts it without asking questions, that's perfect. If she does ask, just say it's to thank her for helping you at the store last time!"
Worried that Sun Lang might mess things up again, Shi Tian emphasized, "Remember, don’t buy more than one! If you buy too many, it’ll ruin everything!"
