After two rounds of using Black Bream Bait, the bream by the shore were nearly all caught. I had about six or seven of various sizes, which should be enough to sell today!
I brought the fish back to the shop and poured them into the tank. I picked a ten-gram float and attached it to my Iso Rod; I wanted to try something technical today! The Abo and the float each have their pros and cons, but the advantage of the float is its sensitivity—any slight movement can be detected.
I baited with Xia Rou, cast out twenty meters to see what would happen! Lying back in my Fishing Chair, I put on my polarized sunglasses. The sun wasn’t too harsh at this spot, so I didn’t bother setting up an umbrella; a fisherman's hat would suffice!
Before I could settle in, the Float jumped. I quickly lifted the rod to hook a fish—a little prince about the size of my palm came up! These little guys are so annoying! Most people wouldn’t dare eat them; they just toss them back after wiping their shoes on them, which has led to their increasing boldness—they bite at anything!
The problem is, they have strong teeth. If a regular line goes through their mouths a few times, it needs to be replaced quickly; otherwise, if a big fish bites unexpectedly, it could snap. Even though Shi Tian’s line is sturdy, I wouldn’t joke around with its teeth. After a few bites, I'd have to change it out quickly; otherwise, who knows what kind of internal injuries could occur? If a big fish got away, there’d be no place to cry!
I tossed the Pufferfish aside and switched to a piece of Xia Rou before casting again! After hooking another Pufferfish, Shi Tian remembered that he had a cat at home—probably named Tang Tang! It had been nearly a month since it ran away; it should be coming back soon! If it didn’t return soon, it might not recognize home anymore!
Sigh! I’ve worried so much for this family! As I muttered to myself, I looked up and saw that the Float was gone again!
Another Pufferfish came up. Shi Tian was almost ready to perform surgery on it! This one was really too much trouble! I switched to Abo and hooked on Live Shrimp; I wouldn’t get mad at these Pufferfish anymore! The Live Shrimp was big; surely these Pufferfish couldn’t bite it!
I cast out forty meters—if they couldn’t handle me, then they could just stay away!
While Shi Tian was battling the Pufferfish, Sun Lang’s ally Da Hai arrived. After some quick training, Sun Lang learned how to untangle lines!
As he untangled the line, Da Hai hadn’t even had a chance to speak when Sun Lang cast again. This time it exploded even more! The two were back at it trying to untangle the line!
“Don’t rush to cast; after you untangle it, adjust the Wheel first!” Shi Tian shot Sun Lang a glance. Da Hai shook his head: “Just follow the method I showed you earlier for untangling. Don’t pull hard; gently straighten it out bit by bit.”
After assigning Sun Lang his practice task, Da Hai lost interest in watching him untangle lines. He assembled his Rod and made a gentle cast. With a flick of his finger and a lift of his rod, he reeled in within three or five tries.
Watching Da Hai catch fish one after another made Shi Tian want to grab another Lure Rod and throw one out just to tease them both. But after glancing at the Abo in the water and thinking for a moment, he decided against it. He was here Fishing for Big Fish; what was there to show off by playing with Lures? It would be better to show off after catching a big one!
In just about ten minutes, Da Hai hooked a fish. He glanced over at Sun Lang who was still tangled up in his line and shook his head helplessly as he walked over to Shi Tian’s side and tossed a Little Pufferfish into Shi Tian’s bucket.
He had been too busy teaching Sun Lang how to use the Water Drop Reel that he forgot to bring his Fish Bucket when he rushed out. For now, he could only keep his catch in Shi Tian’s Fish Bucket temporarily.
He was indeed closer to Sun Lang, but judging by the way Sun Lang was losing his cool this time, if his Fish Bucket got tangled, he might end up having to help him untangle it. It might be better to seek Shi Tian instead!
"Why did you come alone? Where are Da Gui Wang and Calmly?" Shi Tian asked casually, looking up and offering a cigarette to the sea.
It was Friday, and it wasn't surprising that Da Hai had taken an early leave to go fishing. However, the three of them usually stuck together, so it felt a bit odd that Da Hai had come alone this time.
"Calmly is on a business trip and won't be back for a few days. Da Gui Wang wanted to come, but he probably has to work tonight. Whether he can leave before nine is still uncertain!" He sighed helplessly. If those two had time, why would he need to come here to train a newbie?
Upon hearing this, Shi Tian understood; it meant that they were fishing solo! Last time Wang Ergou went solo, Da Gui Pai had made him suffer quite a bit. He wondered if Wang Ergou would be interested in this opportunity.
However, Shi Tian would never betray others like that. He was a good kid with strong principles; how could he engage in such behavior?
Twenty minutes later, Da Hai caught another fish. He took out his phone and snapped a picture, documenting Da Gui Pai's proactive training of new members. After sending it to the group chat, Shi Tian leisurely hummed a tune while waiting for the fish to bite!
The float dipped black, and as he lifted the rod, this fish didn’t pull much against the drag but was certainly more impressive than the previous catches.
In two or three minutes, the fish was at the shore—a Sea Bass weighing around ten pounds was pulled up. Shi Tian felt a twinge of disappointment. Still, it was worth two or three hundred yuan; he might as well return it to the tank at the shop! The Fishing Box definitely wouldn’t hold it!
Fortunately, this fish was big enough and looked good too. He planned to see if any Air Force Guys passed by so he could sell it cheaply! However, fishermen willing to pay for fish were few and far between; spending money seemed less appealing than scrubbing clothes on a washboard—enduring for a moment would pass!
"Hey! Boss, just caught that? That fish is pretty big! Must be around ten pounds!" A Wuling Shenche pulled up behind him as a Bro got out of the car with a grin.
