The fishing platform was set up well, and as soon as the bait was cast, two Azure Catfish weighing around seven to eight pounds were caught. The results were quite impressive! However, the good fishing didn’t last long. Soon, a group of shamans appeared by the reservoir, accompanied by the two young ones from last night. They performed their rituals, tossing offerings into the river with loud splashes, causing Wang Ergou to roll his eyes in disbelief!
Before the shamans could finish, several internet celebrities showed up, blocking the two young ones. How could they let this opportunity slip? With their phones in hand, they immediately began conducting interviews! After the interviews concluded, amidst friendly greetings from the two young ones, the group gradually moved away. The internet celebrities then set up camp, insisting on live streaming their encounter with water ghosts. As long as they had enough donations, they were ready to jump into the water and battle the ghosts for hours!
Sitting behind the counter, Shi Tian listened as they rambled on about fantasy tales that were quickly turning into myths. He rubbed his nose and thought it might be time to send them somewhere else. Otherwise, if these people spread rumors and got into trouble, he might get dragged down with them!
A couple of days ago, when he stocked up on supplies, he received some Azure Wind Antelope samples! He had originally planned to test them at Yi Tian Reservoir, but now it seemed impossible! Shi Tian muttered to himself while sitting behind the counter.
Suddenly, the entire shop fell silent.
Why were so many people gathered at the Fishing Tackle Shop? It was all because of the Bait Contest that had given away Wo Liao!
Over half a month ago, Shi Tian organized a Bait Contest where every participant received a packet of Wo Liao. Initially, they thought it was just some old stock or a promotional item. However, after trying it out, they realized how extraordinary Wo Liao was.
Once they experienced its effectiveness, they rushed to buy more Wo Liao but soon discovered it wasn’t for sale; only those who placed in the top twenty of the contest could get it.
Yesterday, upon hearing that Shi Tian had returned, several of them conspired and came over to ask if they could get some Wo Liao from him. They had been so engrossed in eating ghost melons that they hadn’t noticed Shi Tian had already entered the shop.
“Azure Wind Antelope? Leave it to me! I’ll live stream at Yi Tian Reservoir; you can test it however you want!” Shi Tian said just as a guy who claimed to have seen a water ghost yesterday leaned over the counter.
“What? There’s a water ghost at Yi Tian Reservoir? One that spits Gui Huo?” Seeing this guy approach, Shi Tian immediately shook his head.
“A water ghost? What’s that? I’ll catch one and give it to you as a pet! But time is running out; hurry up and give me some Wo Liao! If you rush over now, you might still make it before sunset! Otherwise, the water ghosts will be off duty!”
“Be careful! The water ghost might drag you into the reservoir!”
Just moments ago, this guy had been animatedly telling ghost stories; now he was shifting to fishing live streams?
“Boss, bring out some Wo Liao! I’ll join him; I love fishing for water ghosts! With Wo Liao in hand, what do we have to fear?” In a Fisherman’s eyes, as long as there was a bite, nothing could stand in their way!
“There isn’t much Wo Liao left; I’ll give you each a packet for your use! But you can only use it at Yi Tian Reservoir; nowhere else!” Once confirmed, Shi Tian turned and went upstairs to fetch some Azure Wind Antelope.
Wang Ergou realized things were getting too noisy; he needed to quickly gather some people for fishing. As long as there were anglers by the reservoir, this commotion would die down in no time. Otherwise, if things escalated too much, he might inadvertently draw attention to himself!
Grabbing four packets of Wo Liao, they were snatched up in an instant—two people per packet—and within moments the shop was left empty.
As for me? With everyone gone, Shi Tian finally noticed Old Zhang sitting in the corner. Seeing everyone else with their packets of Wo Liao made Old Zhang eager to try his luck too.
“Uncle Zhang, do you still have time for fishing? Let me teach you how to stir-fry crayfish!” Stretching his neck a bit—he had promised yesterday—Shi Tian figured Old Zhang must have been waiting here for quite some time!
Old Zhang was originally a chef with experience and ready-made sauces; teaching him how to stir-fry crayfish wouldn’t take long at all!
Old Zhang called Aunt Zhang, asking her to come by and check on the store, while Shi Tian followed Old Zhang to the shop to teach them how to stir-fry lobsters.
As soon as Sun Lang left the store, he headed straight for Yi Tian Reservoir. As for Shi Tian's suggestion to arrange a meeting with Wang Ergou, that was completely unnecessary. Wherever the water ghost appeared, that was where he would fish; he had just gathered all the specific locations from those few people.
Once the car stopped and the equipment was unloaded, Sun Lang set up the Fishing Platform next to Wang Ergou.
"What brings you here? Aren't you supposed to be watching the store?" Wang Ergou asked, somewhat bewildered as he saw Sun Lang setting up the Fishing Platform beside him.
Yesterday, after a water ghost had finally made things quiet around here, he had planned to catch a few more Gui Huo to completely take over this territory. He never expected Sun Lang would have time to come and fish with him.
"The boss is watching the store; I have the afternoon off!" Sun Lang replied seriously. "I heard a bunch of people in the shop talking about ghosts causing trouble here, so I came over to fish for a water ghost. Want to stay up all night?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Ergou immediately abandoned his thoughts of bringing in more Gui Huo! It was fine to stir things up in the Fishing Friends Group, but if it spread among people offline and caused too much noise, it wouldn't be good. He needed to find an opportunity to dig out that little bottle from last night and throw it into the reservoir!
"Staying up all night? Have you brought Wo Liao with you?"
