The two Zhan Di Ge stalls had not yet been set up, but Shi Tian had already made a great throw. Although it was only thirty or forty meters, it was a significant improvement. If he went any further, he would need to coordinate with the casting technique, which required gradual practice!
After a morning of casting with the Lure, he had mastered the technique! Now that he could cast properly, it was time to fish seriously. He switched the Lure, and with Little Fatty on duty, adjusted the Wheel. With one cast, he reached nearly forty meters, and Shi Tian felt quite satisfied with this achievement!
He reeled in slowly, feeling distinct bites on the line! The bites didn’t affect his retrieval speed; he slowed down a bit to continue reeling in. If the fish stopped biting, he would try this spot again next time!
Another bite came, and this one felt heavier. He lifted the rod sharply—he had hooked a fish! Unfortunately, it was a bit small! Dragging it to the shore, he pulled up a four-striped fish, which should be called Mao Gong Fish in Guangdong, weighing no more than twenty grams!
This fish had some distinctive features; its body was adorned with stripes running from head to tail, neatly arranged in four lines from dorsal fin to belly. The pattern was quite uniform!
He tossed the Mao Gong Fish into the Fish Bucket; it was a good start—at least this Rod had been put to good use! It was a pity that he had sold his previous Lure Rod to the line-busting guy; he wondered if that rod had been used properly.
The two Zhan Di Ge glanced over at Shi Tian. Despite their bald heads, they looked down on the small fish in Shi Tian's hand. After casting all morning and only catching this little thing, they hadn’t even made back their breakfast money—what a disappointment!
Seeing them toss their Rods aside and sit on chairs nearby, they seemed to think that skipping breakfast wasn’t an issue; they could just eat lunch earlier instead—hoping for a big catch!
Ignoring the disdainful looks from the two Zhan Di Ge, Shi Tian continued casting. These two had worked hard all morning and wasted so much bait without catching a single fish—they were really losing out!
Lure fishing definitely had its advantages! With just one baitless cast of the small metal plate into the water, he could catch fish; everything caught after that was pure profit. He needed to focus more on Lure fishing in the future!
As he grumbled to himself and pulled back his Rod, he brought up an empty hook! Casting from the dock made it hard to mark spots accurately! The water terrain around him was uniform; he decided to search back and forth from left to right!
Another cast went out, and halfway through reeling in, there was a bite! This time it was much stronger than before—definitely a big fish! Slowing down his retrieval once more, he thought he could hook it this time!
As he reeled in the Hook, no fish came up! He decided to stick with this spot and not move; sooner or later, he would catch that fish!
After three more casts, he felt a strong tug on his line and struck hard—this time there was no escaping! The fish on his Rod felt larger now; even the two Zhan Di Ge stood up in respect.
"Did we catch another one? So soon?" Zhan Di Ge felt a bit sour about it. The Sea Rod was a tool that, once cast, left little to do. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad to play around with the Lure Rod nearby to pass the time!
They all knew about the Lure; it seemed there wasn't much difference from their Sea Rod. In their minds, the only distinction was that one used live bait while the other employed a Jig!
They were straightforward people and had no interest in deceit. Trading bait for fish was the true attitude of fishing!
As the saying goes, genuine feelings are hard to keep, but only schemes can win hearts! If live bait wasn’t attracting fish, yet the Jig was reeling them in continuously, did that mean the fish in the sea were now fond of tricks? Should they rescue the fish from the vast ocean and let them taste the dangers of deceit?
"Zhan Di Ge, help me net this fish!" Shi Tian said with a slight smile as the fish approached the shore.
A Big Red Friend weighing around five pounds was quite impressive. Shi Tian was confident he could bring it up directly, but to tease his two companions, he thought it best to let them assist!
"Steady! I've got this!" Zhan Di Ge replied eagerly, already holding the Net and waiting for a while.
With a swift motion, he cast the net, feeling its weight as he pulled it up! The Control Fish Tool clamped down, and with his multifunctional Lure Pliers, he carefully pried open the fish's mouth to release Little Fatty.
"Five pounds two ounces, not bad!" Shi Tian mused aloud in front of Zhan Di Ge. He leisurely tossed the fish into the Fish Bucket, eager to see if they would feel tempted!
Red Snapper (Purple Snapper).
