The Swordfish has a dorsal fin shaped like a sickle, which does not extend to the tail, and its mouth is longer than that of the Sailfish and Marlin. Additionally, Swordfish live in deep waters, often several meters below the surface, and are rarely found in the upper layers.
There have been quite a few incidents involving Sailfish; their strikes can be deadly. The unluckiest was a guy who caught a Sailfish but ended up cutting the line. That guy was filled with regret, not expecting the fish to turn back and strike him, resulting in his immediate demise.
It is true that they can penetrate steel plates, but those fish are enormous, weighing several kilograms and charging at nearly a kilometer per hour. Even if they don't pierce steel, their power is immense. The fish on Shi Tian's rod certainly isn't that large; even if it is fast and strong, Shi Tian can still manage the rod with ease, as it likely weighs only a few dozen kilograms.
After pulling in over a meter of line, Shi Tian finally began to reel it back in! It wasn't that the fish lacked strength; it had simply changed direction and might be coming toward the boat! With the throttle pushed all the way down, Shi Tian quickly reeled in the line while keeping a close eye on the fish's movements, making sure it didn't jump onto the boat and injure anyone.
"Be careful! It's best to get up on the deck and secure the area; it's not completely safe down here!" After warning a few people, Shi Tian resumed his tug-of-war with the fish on the rod.
With Shi Tian and Wang Ergou urging them on, several people began to move toward the deck with the rod. Below were only Shi Tian and Wang Ergou dealing with this fish, along with the vast ocean!
The fish had been struggling for over twenty minutes now, showing no signs of tiring; it seemed determined to battle it out with Shi Tian for another round! "Da Gui Wang, come down and help out! I'm really out of strength!" After twenty minutes of fighting, Shi Tian was exhausted! The wheel was slowing down more and more; reeling in was no longer as fast as letting out line!
Calling out to Da Gui Wang at the stairway, Shi Tian could only seek assistance now! Earlier he had looked down on electric reels a bit, but now he envied them since he hadn’t managed to land a single fish yet! If he had an electric reel, he would have confidence in reeling in even a fish twice this size all by himself!
Helping someone else reel in a fish is still an active task for fishermen. He shoved his own rod into the ocean's embrace and took over Da Gui Wang's rod officially! "You first reel in my line! Don't get tangled up with Shi Tian's; that fish is quite fierce!" After giving Da Gui Wang some instructions, he picked up a hose and sprayed water onto the wheel for a while to cool it down.
This wheel had been under strain for so long that its temperature was already excessively high. As water sprayed from the hose, steam rose up, making it clear that releasing tension on the brake was much improved.
Watching Da Gui Wang reel in his line, the others also began to pull theirs back. Currently, two large fish were hooked on board; they needed to bring these two big catches onto the boat first to let those across from them feel envious!
As soon as he reeled in his rod and donned cut-resistant gloves, Wang Ergou also picked up a hose to spray Shi Tian's electric reel for a bit. Now they just needed to wait for Shi Tian to bring the fish close enough to the boat so he could take over!
Seeing that the fish wasn’t coming up anytime soon, Wang Ergou chuckled: "I’ll take a smoke break while you handle this; let me help you tire it out for a while." Opportunities to catch Sailfish are rare; now that Shi Tian had hooked one, he wanted to enjoy it too!
With enthusiasm, Wang Ergou took over from Shi Tian. He loosened the drag slightly. A fish this size should be savored; they couldn’t pull it up too quickly—especially when watching it leap out of the water repeatedly from afar; that feeling was exhilarating!
As Wang Ergou took over handling the rod, Shi Tian lit a cigarette and headed toward the stern. The fish on Da Gui Wang’s rod was almost ready to come up; he needed to help out first; otherwise, relying on those holding nets could risk losing it!
"Come on, make way! This fish is no small catch, and it won't come up with just the Ping Net!" Pushing through the crowd gathered around the Da Gui Four-Man Team, Shi Tian leaned over the railing to take a look. With a flick of his hook, he landed a precise strike, pulling up a massive tuna weighing around seventy to eighty pounds!
Dragging the fish onto the boat, he reeled in the hook and smiled slightly. "You guys handle the bleeding and de-acidification! I need to go play with the fish!"
With that, Shi Tian left, leaving several people staring at each other in confusion. What does bleeding and de-acidification even mean? How do we do that? No idea!
It didn't matter; they decided to take photos first! After all, catching fish was all about capturing the moment! They could figure out everything else later.
Returning from the stern, they saw that Wang Ergou was almost done tiring out a sailfish on the rod! With the fish losing strength and Wang Ergou losing interest, he handed the rod over to Shi Tian. Leaning half his body over the side of the boat, he began preparing to catch the sailfish that was nearing the boat.
As the fish approached, Wang Ergou pulled on the line to bring it closer. He grabbed hold of the sailfish's long snout, lifting its entire head out of the water while it struggled in his grasp!
Seeing that Wang Ergou had control over the fish, everyone on board went wild, and Sun Lang rushed over to help.
After giving the fish two minutes of pure air, Wang Ergou found that the sailfish had calmed down significantly. With a strong pull, Shi Tian and Sun Lang assisted him, and soon a nearly two-meter-long sailfish was lifted onto the boat.
The sailfish was indeed legendary; when it hatched, it was only a few millimeters long. From birth, it began its fierce struggle for survival against its siblings. Within three days, it could grow to three or four centimeters long, and within a week, it could reach ten centimeters.
As long as it wasn't eaten by its siblings, a sailfish could grow from millimeter-sized to meter-sized in just one year—its growth rate rivaling its swimming speed!
