Since the two of them won't be coming over until tomorrow, there's no need to tidy up the house today. Any matters can wait until tomorrow morning! However, I still need to deal with the large curtains tonight; otherwise, when Yun Wan'er sees them tomorrow, my life will definitely be unbearable!
After breakfast, I rushed to the shop where Sun Lang was busy introducing Rod to someone. His eyes were bloodshot, clearly indicating he hadn't slept well last night.
"How late did you fish last night? You guys didn’t pull an all-nighter, did you?" I asked, looking at the pile of stock that needed replenishing on the counter. Shi Tian responded with a hint of exasperation.
"We didn’t exactly pull an all-nighter, but it was close! It was eleven when Wang Gou showed up again. We only finished after we ran out of Wo Liao, which was almost two in the morning!" Sun Lang casually replied while restocking.
Fishing until two and then having to open the shop by four was practically an all-nighter for Sun Lang!
"You guys are really something!" I teased as I glanced at the large water tank. Wow! After a whole night, it was filled with Black Sea Bream! Should we call Old Zhao to come take them away?
Today he didn’t have anything planned and wasn’t going fishing either. With Kang Ziyu's shop still closed and no one else around, he certainly wouldn’t just sit here watching the store.
After thinking it over, I decided to check out a fishing spot later. The one across the way would probably only keep that group entertained for a day anyway; I still needed to prepare a fishing spot for Sunday! Otherwise, when Yun Wan'er and the others arrive, I won’t have time to scout for a fishing spot!
But there’s no rush; I’ll wait until it cools down in the afternoon before heading over to cast a few lines. Xu Yuanxiang and Zhao Zong were already using Bai Tiao to bait their spots; if I don’t go join them, I’d feel bad!
"Hey! Xu Zong and Zhao Zong are here so early!" I greeted them with a smile as I approached with my gear.
"What’s up? Here to mooch off our spot again? Did you see the Fish Fry we just released? We’ll be back to catch them in eight months, and until then, fishing is prohibited here!" Xu Yuanxiang laughed as he handed me a cigarette.
With my rod cast out, I shot Xu Yuanxiang an eye roll. "They’re using high-tech methods; their fish grow fast—forty pounds in eight months! Do you have that kind of technology?"
Besides, they’re working on a contract while you guys think you can just take over the entire Pacific Ocean with two Little White Strips? That’s quite delusional!
While Shi Tian was joking around with Xu Yuanxiang and Zhao Zong, Wang Gou began searching for targets among the lobsters.
It was impossible to target Sanya’s Heikeng now; those two had long been blacklisted. Even without Wo Liao's support before, these two weren’t easy opponents. Watching them release fish made others wary of approaching their spots.
Wanning and Changjiang—where should we start? Since Sanya was out of the question, we’d begin from the surrounding areas. Wanning was closest and easy to drive to, though there were fewer Heikeng there.
With so little Wo Liao available, let’s check out Wanning first! Later on, I’ll need to ask Shi Tian for more Wo Liao; otherwise, it won’t be satisfying! After staring at the map for a while, Wang Gou finally decided on Wanning!
Fishing at Heikeng means targeting Carp, Grass Carp, and Qiao Zui; those are the only three types of Wo Liao we can effectively use. We can’t go that far just to catch Carp or pull Bai Tiao!
These three types of fish are cheap; an eight-hour day usually costs under two hundred bucks. If we were targeting Qing Cao Lian Yu or Azure Catfish, though, the fees would be much higher!
He made a phone call to check in with the Fishing Buddy over there to gather some information about the situation. He was in a hurry to get there, hoping to fish for eight hours before dark. After replying to Wang Gou, he stepped on the gas and headed straight for the highway.
In Hainan, nearshore fishing was popular, and many fishermen would often run off to Hai Li while fishing. Compared to inland areas, there were relatively fewer Heikeng here.
After driving nearly a hundred kilometers, he found a small reservoir of about twenty thousand square meters with the help of Wan Ning Angler and Chao Fen Ge. The catch was not Qing Cao Lian Yu, and each person could expect to catch around one hundred eighty a day, with a return of four for each fish.

Since they had already come this far, it was impossible to look for another fishing spot at this hour; they would settle here for today!
After paying the fishing expenses, he noticed that Wang Gou and the Lobster were somewhat disheartened. Chao Fen Ge chuckled and said, "Don’t think there are no fish here. I’ll tell you, there are Qiao Zui! And they’re not small either; we could easily catch ten or so pounds to break even! I even brought some tender corn!"
Upon hearing this, Wang Gou and the Lobster understood immediately. The water here was deep, and the Qiao Zui likely preferred to swim in the mid-to-upper layers. It seemed that those fishing for miscellaneous fish were using bottom rigs, which meant the chances of catching Qiao Zui were slim.
If there were Qiao Zui, then it would be straightforward; today they would focus solely on catching Qiao Zui! Wang Gou exchanged a knowing smile with the Lobster; this time they were set. The Bai Tiao bait had found a new purpose!
