Hearing this, Scallion and Ginger shot a glance at Shi Tianyi and asked, "Did you dream of lions last night?"
Shi Tian replied, "Alright! Accept reality, wash my face, change clothes, and let's hurry to go fishing!"
As the boat set sail, everyone got up one after another. After catching a big fish yesterday, Shi Tian continued to use Yan Zai as bait, returning to the same Fishing Spot as before. Once the boat stopped, Shi Tian immediately tossed a Fish Hook with a piece of Yan Zai into the water.
The others were different; since the squid weren't biting anymore, they decided not to use Xia Pi as bait. This new bait was much better than Xia Pi!
Tuna and Zao Kou were expected around five or six o'clock, so it was still a bit early for fishing. They put down their Rods and lit cigarettes while chatting casually, their hands never idle as they occasionally took a few puffs.
During this season, Bluefin Tuna and Sailfish could be found here; it all depended on luck! Bluefin Tuna is a protected species worldwide and is listed on the red list. Since it's a global issue, it doesn't concern any single country. No country seems to prohibit catching Bluefin Tuna—China, Japan, England, France, America, Germany, Canada, Australia—none of them have restrictions. Naturally, the enthusiastic fishing buddies in China would be eager to welcome anyone willing to fish!
Catching Tuna was fine; however, when it came to Sailfish, Swordfish, or Marlin, Shi Tian preferred to keep his distance. These fish were known for their aggressive nature and came with dangerous spikes!
Suddenly, there was a bite! With the lobster line cast out, Zao Kou officially began! The Electric Reel roared to life. After more than twenty minutes of struggle, they still hadn’t brought aboard the fifty or sixty-pound Yellowfin Tuna when Scallion and Ginger hooked another fish!
Wang Ergou was diligent; with one Net cast down, they finally had some success with the lobster catch. As the lobster busily bled and acidified the fish, Wang Ergou was about to help Scallion and Ginger when he noticed his own Rod dancing.
He tossed aside the Net and lifted his rod sharply while adjusting the Electric Reel's drag. Step by step he worked diligently until he had taken over the task of reeling in the fish from Oka!
Then Oka's Rod started dancing too; it was a relay game now that only Shi Tian could assist with! Holding the Net in one hand while keeping an eye on his own Rod with the other. If his Rod started dancing, he wouldn’t hesitate to toss the Net to Scallion and Ginger so they could handle it themselves.
However, Shi Tian was overthinking it; even as he helped Scallion and Ginger bring in their catch, his own Rod remained silent!
The fish were quite varied today—Red Snapper, Sea Wolf, Ghosthead Knife—everything imaginable was biting.
Unfortunately, it wasn't the season for Shi Ban; otherwise, Nan You's Shi Ban would have been quite impressive—double Reef Fishing would yield much larger catches!
Watching his companions haul in fish one after another while he remained calm in his corner made Shi Tian unhurried. "You all keep fishing! Those are just small fry," he thought. "With big hooks and big bait aimed at big fish—I'm after that eighteen-foot Marlin that visited me in my dreams last night!"
"You’re letting your line go too deep; if you let it out any further you’ll be fishing on the bottom where only Zhang Hong will bite!" He reminded Shi Tianyi while Scallion and Ginger continued casting their lines.
In the early morning, several fish had been caught, yet not a single Tuna. The luck of Scallions and Ginger wasn't that great today. Compared to Scallions and Ginger, Lobster and Wang Ergou fared much better; both had landed a Tuna, each weighing over fifty pounds!
Oka also caught a Tuna, but he was even more frustrated than Scallions and Ginger. Before he could reel it in, Sea Wolf had raided it, gnawing at the flesh on its belly. In just a few bites, the fish was left in shambles!
Zhang Hong? Hearing that name made Shi Tian shake his head; he was about to reel in his line. Last time Lu Ya caught a Zhang Hong weighing around a pound, Shi Tian thought it was quite valuable, but upon inquiry, he found out its price was nowhere near that of a Tuna!
As Shi Tian began to reel in his line, the fish below had no intention of letting go of this buffet. Fish Bait chased after him, nibbling away. Shi Tian could feel the tugging force transmitted through the rod tip; unfortunately, these fish were a bit small—such big Yan Zai couldn't be swallowed whole.
Shi Tian reeled in steadily while the fish continued to nibble away. Just as the Electric Reel was about to hit single digits, the rod tip suddenly dipped—he finally hooked a fish!
With this catch, he didn’t adjust the drag and continued reeling it in! A net went down, and he pulled up a seven or eight-pound Sea Wolf. Shi Tian was torn over how to handle this creature!
Releasing it was out of the question; once you start catching fish, letting one go would mean you wouldn't catch another! Tossing it into the water tank worried him that it might harm the live Squid inside. Better to let it reflect on its actions on deck!
Catching Sea Wolves right by the boat? A school of Sea Wolves had arrived; it was time to change fishing spots! Glancing at the struggling Sea Wolf on deck, Oka sighed and said, "This guy ruined a seventy-pound Yellowfin Tuna; my resentment towards Sea Wolves runs deep."
It was hard to catch Sea Wolves near the boat; they were quite alert and wouldn’t bite when close to the vessel. The fact that Shi Tian managed to catch one here indicated that there was still a high density of Sea Wolves in this area!
Once everyone reeled in their lines, Scallions and Ginger steered the boat to a new Fishing Spot. Wang Ergou rummaged through a pile of Bait Cages, distributing one to each person filled with small shrimp to lure in the fish. Zao Kou continued!
The effectiveness of one Bait Cage wasn’t significant; the more people using them, the better! With all five people on board adding Bait Cages, they would soon attract a large number of Xiao Yu.
With more Xiao Yu around, larger fish would follow—that’s how Bait Cages worked. After changing Fishing Spots and following their lead by using Squid as bait, Shi Tian cast his line into the water once again. Within half an hour, results began to show!
