The house needed renovation, and it had to be finalized before heading out to sea. Fortunately, there wasn't much to change; the most significant task was to dig a trench for the water pipe for the Mountain Spring Water. Manager Liu had the construction blueprint for this villa, so adding a water pipe wouldn't be complicated.
As for the style, Shi Tian didn't need to think twice; he immediately decided on a minimalist design. The house already followed this style, which both Yun Wan'er and Shi Tian liked. As for Shi Chui, his opinion didn't matter much anyway; no one would care!
Another important point was that this style was cost-effective! With just over a million in hand, Shi Tian could manage this design without straining his wallet. Other styles would be more challenging to pull off.
The basement would serve as a gym for now, so it could remain empty. First, they would handle the structural work; there was no need to buy equipment just yet. The first floor could accommodate some items, like an audio-visual game room for watching movies and playing music. Yun Wan'er played the guqin, and it had been a while since she last practiced; he hoped she hadn't forgotten everything. He planned to get her a new guqin when she arrived!
Shi Chui and Yun Wan'er's master bedroom was on the second floor, which required some thought. A study was essential; Yun Wan'er was both active and contemplative, so he would get her a bookshelf. As for the books inside, she could buy them herself once she arrived! The books she read were completely beyond Shi Tian's understanding, and he had no interest in them anyway.
He also wanted to create a tea room with a guqin in it. The tea set would be up to Shi Chui's Yun Wan'er to procure herself; after all, choosing a guqin was a specialized task. He would just provide a stand for it since she would need to pick one that suited her taste.
Should he arrange a room for Lao Shi's fishing gear? That wasn't something he needed to worry about; there were plenty of storage rooms in the basement, so reserving one for him would suffice.
So it was settled: one bed, an empty wardrobe, a study without books or computers, a tea room without tea sets, and those few windowsills without plants—the second-floor plan was finalized.
The third floor was his territory, so he felt free to do as he pleased. If it weren't for needing to connect the Mountain Spring Water up there, Shi Tian wouldn't have planned any changes at all.
He presented the plan to Manager Liu, who couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the simplicity of it all. "Is this really modern minimalist? It's too simple!"
Xiao Shi Zong had mentioned that renovations here needed careful attention and that expenses should come from the previous property management! Manager Liu worried that Shi Tian might have made the house too simple due to budget constraints and reminded him of this concern.
Manager Liu had doubts; if they went ahead with this style of renovation, would Shi Ye cause trouble when he returned? He knew that Shi Tian's parents were coming over soon; if the house wasn't beautifully renovated, where would Shi Ye's face go?
"Just stick with this style," Shi Tian replied firmly. "The money shouldn't come from previous property management; this is my way of honoring my parents! It wouldn't make sense otherwise!"
Shi Tian added: "Some things can't be purchased yet. Even if I buy them now, I'll replace everything once my mom comes over! There's no point in wasting money!"
What Shi Tian said wasn't just talk; regardless of how Yun Wan'er felt about things, she preferred to choose everything herself. Whether it was Shi Chui or Shi Tian buying her something, she never seemed satisfied with their choices. But if she bought something herself, she loved it no matter what; if it came from either of them, it just didn't sit right with her—this was quite alarming!
Early Monday morning before dawn broke, Shi Tian set off in the Mini Air Force. He first picked up Scallion Ginger Fishy and his friend Oka and stocked up on plenty of ingredients before heading to the fishing dock for ice, water, diesel fuel, and fish bait.
By around nine o'clock, the Mini Air Force arrived at Yacht Dock where Wang Ergou and lobsters were already waiting. After loading up the fishing gear onto the boat, they departed from port and set sail!
The Mini Air Force didn't have much space; with five people on board, two shared a cabin while Shi Tian enjoyed one all to himself.
Scallion Ginger Fishy knew that Shi Tian was a new driver, the kind who hadn't even completed his probation period. He couldn't risk the lives of the five people on board in the hands of this novice, so he stayed in the cockpit, watching Shi Tian steer the boat.
The other three were much more professional. After boarding, they dove into their rooms and buried their heads in sleep.
Nan You fished primarily at night. With such a vast ocean, why choose to fish near the Drilling Platform? It was all because of the lights on the platform. Fish are attracted to light, and at night, the Drilling Platform would be brightly lit, drawing many small fish. A lot of fish had made this area their home.
With an abundance of small fish, larger ones came to prey on them, making this spot an excellent fishing location! There’s a saying that fishing at Nan You around the fifteenth day of the lunar month isn’t ideal because the moonlight is too bright, causing small fish to scatter rather than school together.
When small fish are dispersed, it becomes difficult for larger fish to hunt. Therefore, during this time, most catches in sea fishing are just tourists; seasoned fishing masters along the coast are few and far between.
Shi Tian didn’t care about any of that. It wasn’t easy to get out to sea; why worry about specific dates? He tossed out the fish bait and didn’t believe that large fish wouldn’t bite! Did they not eat on the fifteenth day and survive solely on water?
Today, no one was manning the grill, so Shi Tian didn’t need to control the boat's speed. After drifting for three hours, Nan You's high tower finally came into view.
As the boat slowed down, the three sleeping passengers emerged from their rooms. There were too many boats over there; they should wait before crossing. "Oka, you take over driving," Scallion Ginger Fishy instructed. "Let’s use this Fishing Spot for some small fish tonight as bait!" After circling around the perimeter of the Drilling Platform, Scallion Ginger Fishy let Oka take over Shi Tian’s position at the helm.
After three hours at sea, Shi Tian had lost interest in driving; it was just too boring! Oka slowly steered away from the Drilling Platform while Scallion Ginger Fishy headed into the kitchen to prepare lunch. Without a good meal, how could anyone have the energy to fish?
Shi Tian accompanied Oka as he drove while Wang Ergou and Lobster began to busy themselves as well. This was likely their first time meeting Scallion Ginger Fishy and Oka, but when it came to fishing at sea, they worked together quite harmoniously.
They assembled their rods and headed to the stern to set up their grill. If they could catch a big fish, great; if not, a few small ones for bait would still be nice!
"I heard you haven't fished around here much before?" Scallion Ginger Fishy said. "After we finish eating, you should take a nap. The big fish will come out tonight; let’s catch some small ones first for bait!" After drifting for more than half an hour at sea, Oka turned to Shi Tian and said.
