Standing at the door of Room 302 in the Neon Hotel, my hands trembled violently as I slowly raised them to knock. Each rap on the door felt like a strike against my own heart, sending waves of panic through me. 0

The door opened. 0

Cheng Huai and Bai Wei appeared before me, disheveled. My pupils constricted sharply, as if blinded by a sudden light. 0

What shocked me even more was the open relocation compensation agreement on the table, where Cheng Huai was crossing out my father's name, Lin Jianguo, with a red marker! 0

"Lin Xia, let me explain..." Cheng Huai stammered, hurriedly adjusting his clothes, his gaze darting away from mine. 0

"Explain? What is there to explain!" I interrupted him angrily, my voice trembling and my body shaking slightly. "You said you were working late, and this is the result? Crossing out my dad's name—what do you want?" I glared at him, filled with rage and disappointment. 0

Bai Wei stood beside him, smirking with a mocking curve to her lips. The concrete sample pendant around her neck was particularly glaring. "What’s wrong? Just realizing it now? Cheng Huai stopped loving you a long time ago." 0

"Shut up!" I shot her a fierce glare, my eyes sharp as knives, then turned back to Cheng Huai, my eyes reddening. "After all this time together, is this how you treat me?" 0

Cheng Huai lowered his head, mumbling, "Lin Xia, I... I was just confused for a moment." His voice was low and tinged with guilt. 0

"Confused? Do you think that justifies your actions? Do you think it honors our relationship?" Tears streamed down my face as my voice rose higher, nearly turning into a scream. "Do you have any idea how much I've sacrificed for this family, for you? Have you forgotten?" 0

"Lin Xia, I was wrong. Please forgive me this once..." Cheng Huai said as he reached out to grab my arm, but I recoiled as if shocked, stepping back sharply. 0

"Forgive? Do you think this is something that can be easily forgiven?" I shook my head in despair, tears flowing uncontrollably. "It's over between us, Cheng Huai." With that, I turned and stumbled away, tears blurring my vision until everything around me became a hazy blur. 0

Returning home, I collapsed onto the sofa, feeling as if all my strength had been drained away. The images from earlier replayed in my mind, each detail cutting into my heart like a knife. "How could this happen? We once loved each other so much; how could he betray me?" 0

At that moment, my phone rang. It was the hospital, informing me that my father's condition had worsened and immediate payment for treatment was required. I wiped away my tears, took a deep breath, and felt a whirlwind of emotions. "Dad is still waiting for me to save him; I can't fall apart now. But where am I going to get that much money?" I gripped the phone tightly, my knuckles turning white, determination and helplessness reflected in my eyes. 0

I rushed to the hospital and saw my father lying weakly on the bed. My heart ached as if it were being torn apart. He managed to force a smile, one filled with exhaustion and love. His lips moved slightly: " girl, don’t tire yourself too much; Dad is fine." 0

"Dad, please don’t talk. Just focus on getting better." I hurried to his bedside and took his hand, which felt bony and cold. I fought back tears, my voice catching in my throat. 0

The doctor approached with a serious expression. Adjusting his glasses, he looked at the medical records and said, "Your father's condition is very serious; he needs surgery as soon as possible. The cost will be around two hundred thousand, and there are significant risks involved with the surgery. By the way, your father's dialysate batch has recently been reported anonymously." 0
