She walked gracefully, her light steps echoing softly. Dressed in a pale blue floral dress, a delicate white belt cinched at her waist accentuated her slender figure perfectly. A gentle breeze stirred, causing the hem of her dress to flutter like a flower swaying in the spring. Strands of hair, slightly damp with sweat, clung to her fair neck, adding an extra touch of charm.
His gaze was instantly captivated. Taking a deep breath, he tried to steady himself as he stepped forward and softly said, "Lin Xiao Yu, you’re here." Lowering his head slightly, he extended a bouquet of tulips towards her, his eyes revealing a hint of shyness and anticipation. "This bouquet is for you; I hope you like it."
She paused for a moment, then a faint blush crept across her cheeks as she gently accepted the flowers. Bringing them close to her nose, she inhaled their delicate fragrance. "They’re beautiful; thank you."
Gathering his courage, he looked into her eyes, which sparkled like stars with warmth and sincerity. "Lin Xiao Yu, the reason I asked you out today is that I have something important to tell you." Slowly kneeling down, he picked up an envelope from the ground and stood up again, handing it to her. "Inside is my heartfelt message; I want you to know how special you are to me."
Curiously, she took the envelope and opened it, reading each word carefully. He watched her intently, nervously clenching and unclenching his hands. As she read on, surprise flickered in her eyes, followed by an unmistakable wave of emotion.
Seeing her reaction, he took a small step closer, narrowing the distance between them. His lips trembled slightly as he spoke with a raspy yet passionate voice: "Lin Xiao Yu, I like you. From our first meeting to every moment we’ve shared since then, you’ve been like a ray of light in my life. Your smile, your kindness, your talent—everything about you captivates me deeply. I’ve imagined countless times what it would be like for us to be together. I want to be by your side, shielding you from storms and accompanying you through every season. Will you be with me?"
She lifted her head, tears glistening in her eyes as she bit her lower lip. After a moment's pause, she gently nodded. "I will." Her voice was soft but struck him like a heavy blow to the heart.
A radiant smile instantly lit up his face as he reached out carefully to tuck a stray hair behind her ear that the wind had tousled. His fingers brushed lightly against her cheek with infinite tenderness and affection. "Lin Xiao Yu, thank you; I will cherish you." He whispered before slowly enveloping her in his arms as if holding the entire world.
Nestled against him, she beamed with happiness. In that beautiful moment as the sun set behind them, their hearts drew close together as if time had frozen around them—everything else faded away, leaving only the sweetness and warmth of their love lingering in the air.
