Lin Dongzhe and Peng Fei looked up in shock, their eyes wide with a mix of panic and unease as they saw Tu Nan Brother standing before them. Zhuang Tunan took a deep breath, struggling to suppress the anger boiling inside him. His voice was low but firm as he said, "What are you two doing? If you don't do well on the Zhongkao this time, you'll regret it for the rest of your lives." Peng Fei lowered his head, mumbling softly, "Tu Nan Brother, we know we were wrong."
Seeing their remorseful expressions, Zhuang Tunan's tone softened slightly. "I understand that at your age, it's natural to want to have fun, but you need to prioritize what's important. From now on, all your focus must be on studying. I will be here with you to help set up a study plan and catch up on any missed work."
Lin Dongzhe and Peng Fei nodded silently. They could see the determination and expectation in Tu Nan Brother's eyes and felt the urgency of the upcoming Zhongkao weighing heavily on them. During this cold winter break, they understood that a battle for the Zhongkao was about to begin under Tu Nan Brother's guidance, and they had to give their all to strive for their future.
Afterward, Zhuang Tunan gathered Lin Dongzhe, Peng Fei, Zhuang Xiaoting, and Lin Xiaoyu into one room with a serious expression. The atmosphere was tense as the children sat quietly, looking at him expectantly.
Zhuang Tunan began by outlining the requirements for the Zhongkao exam in detail, covering everything from subject weight distribution to key points for answering questions without missing anything. He then presented a meticulously prepared study plan filled with daily tasks and time allocations: early morning reading at 6:30 AM sharp, memorizing classical Chinese poetry and English vocabulary. In the morning, they would tackle math and physics problems while carefully analyzing any mistakes made on practice exercises. The afternoons would focus on language arts and English reading and writing skills, ensuring they remembered historical and geographical knowledge points. Evenings were reserved for summarizing reviews and organizing notes.
However, day after day during their review sessions, Lin Dongzhe and Peng Fei occasionally displayed a playful attitude that undermined their efforts. While doing homework, Lin Dongzhe would secretly doodle in his notebook, while Peng Fei would fidget with small trinkets when no one was watching, completely distracted from studying. Whenever it was time to seriously memorize knowledge points or complete practice questions, they would either zone out after reciting a few lines or hastily scribble down answers without any deep thought.
Zhuang Tunan repeatedly reminded and urged them to stay focused, but they quickly fell back into their old habits. Although neighbors might nod in approval at the sight of the children studying diligently, Zhuang Tunan felt helpless watching Lin Dongzhe and Peng Fei behave this way. Their attitude made it difficult for him to trust them fully. He genuinely hoped they would correct their mindset and take their studies seriously; however, their current behavior made that hope seem increasingly distant.
