Zhuang Die was momentarily stunned, staring at her granddaughter's aggrieved expression, her hand frozen in mid-air, momentarily at a loss for words. Zhuang Xiao Ting suddenly turned and rushed out the door, tears cascading in the wind. Her small figure disappeared at the end of the street, leaving behind a heart full of grievance and a deep-seated knot in her heart. From then on, every time she recalled this scene, a dull pain would throb in her chest. The once close-knit familial bond now seemed shrouded in a heavy haze, making it difficult to return to the pure warmth of the past. 0

Zhuang Hualin, as Peng Fei's mother, felt an overwhelming sense of helplessness and bitterness at that moment. Her eyes were red-rimmed, tears welling up but held back from falling. She gently reached out to stroke Peng Fei's head, her voice choked with emotion: "My child, I truly have no choice. We can't stay here any longer; your aunt has her difficulties, and we must understand." 0

Peng Fei looked up at her mother, tears brimming in his eyes as he forced a smile that appeared slightly bitter: "Mom, I understand. Brother Tu Nan is preparing for exams and can't be delayed because of me. Please don't be sad." 0

Suzhou and Lin Dongzhe hurried over. Suzhou was panting from running, her hair slightly disheveled. Upon seeing Peng Fei, her eyes instantly filled with tears as she rushed forward and tightly grasped his arm, sobbing: "Peng Fei, how can you just leave without saying goodbye? We haven't played enough or learned enough yet! What will we do without you?" 0

Lin Dongzhe followed closely behind, his eyes also red. He slapped Peng Fei on the back with force but lacking strength, his voice thick with emotion: "You guy, how can you be so ungrateful? You didn't even give us a heads-up before slipping away!" Despite his words, his fist fell softly, full of reluctance. 0

Peng Fei grasped Suzhou's hand tightly and looked at Lin Dongzhe, trying to steady his emotions though his voice still trembled: "Don't cry; it's not like we'll never see each other again. Maybe next year I can come back. By then, you two better show me what new skills you've picked up! Suzhou, your dancing should definitely reach a bigger stage! Lin Dongzhe, your essays will surely be even more impressive!" 0

Suzhou nodded vigorously between sobs: "Yes! You have to take care of yourself wherever you go and write to us often. If you can come back, we’ll get together right away." Lin Dongzhe wiped his tears and pulled out a folded paper boat from his backpack, handing it to Peng Fei: "This is for you; I made it myself. Take it with you on your journey so it feels like we’re still playing by the creek together. I hope you come back soon." 0

At other times, shadows loomed over them like a heavy weight pressing on the hearts of the children. Yet deep down, they all held onto the hope of reuniting in the future. Amidst reluctant tears and heartfelt goodbyes, Peng Fei and his mother Zhuang Hualin walked away slowly, glancing back three times before gradually disappearing from sight. Only Suzhou and Lin Dongzhe remained standing there for a long time, watching until their figures were swallowed by the dusk. 0
