Sunlight filtered through the mottled leaves, casting a warm glow on the campus path. The bell signaling the start of the semester rang, and Lin Dongzhe, Suzhou, and Xiao Ting sat eagerly in the classroom, their eyes fixed on the teacher at the podium. Their notebooks were filled with densely packed notes, the only sounds in the room being the scratching of pens on paper and the teacher's voice. 0

In mathematics class, the atmosphere was lively and focused. The teacher's chalk danced in his hand as he sketched geometric shapes and wrote out theorems on the blackboard. However, when he explained that a Square is a special type of Rhombus, Lin Dongzhe furrowed his brow, hesitated for a moment, and then raised his hand. His voice, though youthful and tentative, carried a sense of certainty: "Teacher, I think you made a mistake. It should be that a Rhombus is a special type of Parallelogram, while a Square is both a special Rhombus and a special Rectangle. It has unique properties: all four sides are equal and all four angles are right angles, making it even more special than an ordinary Rhombus." The teacher paused in surprise, glanced at the blackboard, quickly realized his error, and felt a flush of embarrassment creep onto his face. After clearing his throat twice, he praised Lin Dongzhe for his keen observation before continuing with the lesson. 0

When the class ended, the teacher called Lin Dongzhe to the front with a smile: "You had the courage to point out my mistake right away. How well do you understand this topic?" Lin Dongzhe straightened up confidently and replied brightly, "Teacher, I understand it all! Not just this part; I have mastered the entire topic." The teacher was intrigued and decided to test him on several comprehensive problems right there. Lin Dongzhe's pen moved swiftly across the paper as he tackled each question with clarity and precision, providing accurate answers. The teacher was greatly impressed and decided to contact Lin Dongzhe's parent, Song Ying, to discuss advancing him to a higher grade. 0

Song Ying hurried to the school upon hearing that her son could skip a grade. Her eyes sparkled with surprise and pride as she smiled broadly, patting Lin Dongzhe on the shoulder while thanking the teacher for recognizing her child's potential. That evening, warm yellow light filled the Lin family's living room as Song Ying, Huang Ling, Teacher Zhuang, and Lin Wufeng gathered to discuss this matter seriously. Huang Ling spoke first: "This shows that the child has talent and is willing to study hard; we cannot let that go to waste." Teacher Zhuang nodded in agreement: "Yes, if we can match his learning environment with his abilities, there is no limit to his progress." Lin Wufeng also smiled broadly: "We must support him; it's not easy for a child to have such aspirations." After much discussion, they reached a consensus. 0

Soon after, they faced the exam for skipping grades. In the examination hall, Lin Dongzhe remained calm and composed as his mind raced through each challenge; Suzhou moved gracefully in her seat, answering questions as fluidly as if dancing; Xiao Ting focused intently with her small hand gripping her pen tightly as she wrote down answers based on her solid foundation. On results day, good news arrived: all three achieved excellent scores and successfully advanced to Fourth Grade. They stood side by side on the campus path with bright smiles as they stepped into this new academic phase together; their future unfolded before them like a canvas filled with vibrant colors of hope. 0

The Osmanthus trees on campus were in full bloom, their fragrant scent wafting through every corner. Lin Dongzhe was filled with excitement as he began his learning journey in Fourth Grade but felt something was missing without that bright red scarf around his neck. In class, he watched as his classmates wore their neatly tied red scarves—symbols of honor—shining brilliantly under the sunlight while he could only lower his head silently, filled with longing. 0

Xiao Ting was perceptive and noticed Lin Dongzhe's disappointment. Without hesitation, she raised her hand decisively in class and broke the silence with her clear voice: "Teacher, Lin Dongzhe hasn't put on his red scarf yet! He really wants to become a Young Pioneer!" The teacher paused from writing with chalk and looked kindly at Lin Dongzhe with eyes full of approval: "Everyone has seen how well Lin Dongzhe performs—enthusiastic and proactive—he truly deserves this honor." Thus, an initiation ceremony was quickly arranged for him. Filled with anticipation, Lin Dongzhe stood tall at the podium as the red scarf was finally draped gently around his neck. Tying it into a solemn knot brought an involuntary smile to his face; his eyes sparkled like brilliant stars as pride swelled within him. When he saluted alongside his teammates during this ceremony, he felt as if he had gained strength to overcome any obstacles. 0

But fate can be a mischievous trickster; halfway through the ceremony dark clouds rolled in suddenly. In an instant, heavy raindrops began to fall chaotically. The students hurriedly followed their teacher's instructions into the classroom while the once lively ceremony site turned desolate in seconds—only Lin Dongzhe remained standing at the podium. The rain created an unfeeling barrier between him and the warmth of the classroom; he looked around at the empty space feeling lost as raindrops soaked his pant legs and splashed onto his red scarf—the vibrant color now appeared somewhat forlorn in this moment. Tears mingled with rainwater slid down his cheeks; he couldn't tell which was which. His heart sank under this sudden downpour of disappointment; loneliness and grievance coiled tightly around him like vines as he trembled slightly and bit his lip—unable to comprehend why this special day had turned so bittersweet. 0

As the rain eased up slightly, the teacher called Lin Dongzhe along with Suzhou and Xiao Ting into her office. With a warm smile but serious tone she said: "Children, since you skipped third grade there are gaps in your Composition Class knowledge. Now I have an assignment for you: write an essay titled 'My Dear,' reflecting on your memories and feelings towards your loved ones." 0
