I am dead. My soul is trapped in this park.
Wang Qiang actually invited a Mage to deal with me.
That day, the Mage stepped into the park.
I felt a violent sense of oppression deep within my soul. Instinctively, I wanted to flee.
The Mage wore a gray robe. The edges of the robe fluttered gently in the breeze, and the bells at his waist rang out with a crisp sound.
He held a dark red Peach Wood Sword. Intricate and profound symbols were engraved on the blade, each radiating a faint golden light.
The Mage's gaze was as cold as a blade, sharp enough to make one hesitate to meet his eyes. He was enveloped in a chilling and obscure aura.
"This place is indeed unclean," the Mage's deep, hoarse voice shattered the silence, grating like a rusty blade scraping against glass.
Wang Qiang stood nearby, a forced smile on his face, but excitement and pride flickered in his eyes. "Master, is there really... something here?"
The Mage did not answer immediately. He closed his eyes, his lips moving slightly as he chanted softly. The Peach Wood Sword trembled slightly in his hand, as if responding to some call.
Suddenly, the tip of the sword pointed steadily in my direction. "There is more than just something here; it's quite troublesome."
The Mage opened his eyes. Those orbs resembled blades soaked in icy venom, filled with murderous intent.
My spirit jolted violently. He saw me! "You’ve hidden well," the Mage said with a mocking smirk curling at the corner of his mouth.
A tone of utter disdain permeated his words. "Let's see where you hide this time!" He flicked his wrist lightly, and the Peach Wood Sword traced a shimmering arc through the air.
A blinding golden light sliced through the void like a sharp blade. This radiance carried a powerful surge of magical energy, tearing the air apart into fine cracks wherever it passed.
My heart tightened suddenly. Instinctively, I urged my Spirit to evade swiftly. The golden light grazed past me, narrowly missing its mark.
I felt a sharp pain pierce deep into my soul, as if my Spirit had been violently torn open.
Immediately, wisps of black mist began to seep from the wound. This was a sign that my power was being diminished.
"Hmph, not bad." I gritted my teeth against the pain, my tone laced with Coldness, but more so with an underlying fury.
"A mere wandering soul dares to challenge me?" The Mage scoffed, his face twisted in mockery.
He raised the Peach Wood Sword and swiftly inscribed a complex rune in the air.
The sword erupted with blinding golden light, transforming into countless runes that poured down upon me like a torrential rain.
Each rune contained terrifying power, slicing through the air with a sharp whistle, akin to countless blades descending upon me.
If struck, my Spirit would instantly crumble into nothingness.
"Damn it!" I clenched my teeth and focused all my Grudge in front of me, conjuring a ghostly blue Barrier.
The Barrier emitted a cold and dim light, constructed from my spiritual energy and Grudge. Merely maintaining it drained a significant portion of my strength.
The runes struck the Barrier violently. Each collision produced a piercing sound that seemed to penetrate directly into my mind, sending chills down my spine. The Barrier quickly weakened under the relentless assault of the runes, and my Spirit felt immense pain from the tremendous impact.
"Is that all you've got?" The Mage appeared to have anticipated my reaction, sneering as he shook his head.
"How much longer can you hold on?" Cracks began to appear in the Barrier.
I realized I could no longer remain in passive defense. A surge of anger ignited within me like a raging wildfire. Grudge erupted in an instant.
I transformed my Spirit into a swirling black mist and conjured dozens of terrifying phantoms. They clawed and gnashed like malevolent spirits, fueled by my deep-seated resentment and fury, overwhelming the Mage.
"Hmph!" The Mage clearly did not expect my counterattack to be so fierce. He staggered back two steps, his earlier composure replaced by a flicker of panic.
But he quickly regained his footing, letting out a low shout. The Peach Wood Sword traced an arc through the air, accompanied by a burst of golden light. Those phantoms were instantly sliced into wisps of black smoke.
"Just an Illusion, and you think you can harm me?" His tone dripped with sarcasm as he thrust his sword into the ground and made a powerful slash.
A Crimson Flame Barrier rose from the earth, enclosing me within. Flames roared inside the barrier, each tongue of fire licking at my Spirit, bringing with it excruciating pain.
The flames not only burned my Spirit but also carried a terrifying purifying power. They were eroding my Grudge, making me feel as though my strength was being stripped away bit by bit.
My Spirit grew weaker and weaker, with wounds on my body continuously oozing black mist. My power was rapidly dissipating under the scorching flames. Yet, the obsession in my heart sustained me. I would never give up resisting.
"It seems you're quite resilient," the Mage said, his tone laced with impatience.
He turned to Wang Qiang. "However, to completely deal with it, you need to find its Corpse and restrain it at the source."
"Alright, I'll send someone to find it immediately!" Wang Qiang responded without hesitation.
His ugly, greedy smile filled me with disgust while also making me truly aware of the impending crisis.
Corpse! If they found my Corpse, I would lose all ability to resist. At that point, even the last trace of my existence would fade away.
I stared fiercely at Wang Qiang, the anger in my heart nearly consuming my reason. I couldn’t let them succeed!
I was trapped within the Flame Barrier. My Spirit was in excruciating pain from the burns, and my power was rapidly fading. But in this desperate situation, I forced myself to remain calm.
I began to observe my surroundings frantically. I noticed that the ground around the barrier had cracked due to the intense heat of the flames. Faint wisps of Yin Qi seeped out from the crevices.
Though weak, this Yin Qi offered me a glimmer of hope.
I concentrated on the little awareness I had left, attempting to merge my Grudge with this Yin Qi in an effort to weaken the flames' power.
At the same time, I continuously recalled the beautiful moments from my past life. The love of my parents. These warm memories illuminated a light in the darkness, giving me strength.
In the painful struggle, I felt as if I were engaged in a life-and-death tug-of-war with the Flame Barrier. Each passing second felt infinitely long, as the flames repeatedly tried to engulf me completely.
Yet, relying on my tenacious will and the fusion of Yin Qi, I gradually found the weak points in the barrier.
However, this was far from enough. I knew that this small breakthrough alone would not allow me to escape. I began to recall my previous experiences at the Park.
Suddenly, I remembered feeling a strange wave in an Abandoned Warehouse once. Perhaps it was a remnant of some mysterious power.
I focused my mind, trying to evoke a resonance with that power. After a series of difficult attempts, finally, a faint response came to me.
I drew this power into the fusion with Yin Qi and Grudge, continuously strengthening the force of my breakthrough.
With every last ounce of strength, I concentrated all my Grudge into one point and charged toward that weak spot with all my might. The flames burned fiercely around me, each inch of my Spirit enduring unbearable agony.
But I gritted my teeth and persevered. Finally, under my reckless assault, a tiny gap appeared in the barrier.
Seizing the opportunity, I endured the pain and squeezed through the opening.
As soon as I escaped, I exhausted all my energy. My Spirit became extremely ethereal, nearly unable to maintain its form. I could only barely drift away from the scene.
